Flat Face
The flat face bit as the name implies is flat across the bit front. This bit is very aggressive

Convex Face

A classic design for soft to medium hard rock formation, but not so abrasive with low to
medium air pressures. This face has been utilized in very hard drilling formations where

the face of the bit tends to be prematurely worn away. The convex style tends to keep the

drilling face intact longer by drilling with the two rows of buttons on the convex face. This bit keeps average hole

straightness but drills at excellent speed. It is the most resistance to steel wash, and may reduce the load and wear
on the Gauge Buttons, gives excellent penetration rate but poor hole deviation control.
Concave Face
This bit is ideal for drilling through medium to hard formations, but less abrasive and
fractured. Good hole deviation control with an average rate of penetration and good
flushing capacity, especially for deep hole drilling.
