August 27 - Back2School Breakfast & Books
Stop by the library for coffee & donuts at
8AM on Friday of work week. Browse our
makerspace & newest materials to enrich
your school year. I will be there to answer
any questions, hear any suggestions and
discuss possible collaboration.

What is it? How can you use it in your
classroom? Learn about this amazing digital

FALL FESTIVITIES
October 1st - Fall Festival @ 8AM
All fall materials on display. Come by
the library for a cup of hot apple cider
& to browse the fall selections. I will
share a few of my favorite fall books
with SOL-connected activities.

November 3rd - Popplet @ 4PM


This mind-mapping website is great for
many instructional purposes. Come hear
how to use & ideas for the classroom:
story brainstorming, cause & effect,
sequencing, timelines, knowledge
webs, main idea & details, all about me
board & classroom rules/procedures.

WINTER
EVENTS
December 3rd – Winter Wonderland @ 8AM
Come by the library to decorate a snowflake
with your favorite story title. Snowflakes will
decorate our building to inspire student reading.
Enjoy hearing a winter story with hot chocolate
& cookies. Stop by your grade level table to see
winter materials available for check out.

January 8th - Adobe Spark (grades 3+) @ 4PM


Come by the computer lab to learn about the
latest tool in digital media presentations. I will
share a self-created example & give a tutorial on
how to use the program. You will have time to
explore and brainstorm uses for your classroom.
Bring your upcoming units & SOLS to help plan!

February 4th - March Madness Prep @
4PM

Come by the library to hear about


our reading promotion for March. We will
be using the VRC’s list to read and vote on
our favorite book. All students & staff are
welcome to participate. I will have brackets
& extra book copies available for pick up.

March 11th – Spring Fever @ 8AM

Join me at the library for a spring cookie &


participate in our “plant the seeds for
reading” event. Book titles that include a
flower’s name, will be ready for pick up
along with the corresponding flower seeds.
With your class read the book & plant the
seeds to grow in reading together.
SWIMMING INTO
SUMMER
READING!
April 5th- Skype Classroom @ 8AM in library
Tutorial and explanation of how to use the
program. Then we’ll brainstorm ideas for
instructional use & possible collaboration on
a unit. Ex. 2nd grade weather SOL
connection: skype with a local news
meteorologist.

May 10th - End of School Summer Reading @


4PM in library
Come join me for our last PD of the year.
Popsicles will be served. Hear about our
school’s summer reading promotion. I will
explain all the details and will have your
materials ready for pick-up.
