THE Zambia Congress of
Trade Unions (ZCTU) has
welcomed the debt swap pro-
posal by Government saying
it will provide a relief to highly
indebted civil servants.

coordinator Kasanda Nondo
said the move will be historical
and boost workers’ motiva-
tion.
Mr Nondo said most civil
servants' salaries have been
swallowed by bank loans re-
sulting in low motivation and
productivity.
Mr Nondo said some work-
ers were suffering double de-
ductions and could not even
afford to send their children to
school.
"Unfortunately some work-
ers are suffering double de-
ductions and cannot afford to
send children to higher learn-
ing of institutions due to their
low income," he said.
Mr Ndondo said the idea of
a debt swap will help increase
take home pay and go a long
way in improving efficiency in
the civil service.
He said the government
had a huge internal debt to
civil servants in subsistence
allowances, settling-in allow-
ances, salary upgrades, leave
pay among others.
Mr Nondo said the debt
swap will also help Govern-
ment liquidate internal debts
owed to public service work-
ers.
"We are appealing to work-
ers to be financially disci-
plined to avoid running away
from their work stations be-
cause money lenders are after
them," Mr Nondo said.
Mr Nondo has also ap-
pealed to Government to
consider increasing workers’
salaries.
He said the cost of living has
gone very high and that the
2018 collective agreement was
expiring next month.
"We appreciate the chal-
lenges the government is go-
ing through but workers de-
serve an increment to cushion
today’s economic challenges,"

A Lusaka businessman
is seeking an injunction,
restraining Lands Minister
Jean Kapata, from
demolishing structures built
on the land he sold to other
individuals.
Aaron Mulope cited

Mr Mulope stated that

executed a contract of sale
in respect of a piece of land

offered to various individuals,
who have now developed
structures.
According to his statement
of claim filed in the Lusaka
High Court, Ms Kapata
instructed all occupants
to vacate the property
purporting to hold title to the
land.
“Ms Kapata obtained the
said title using her authority
as Minister of Lands as
she had never developed
the property within the
requirements of the offer
terms and was very aware
that the land was in fact
offered to Mr Malaika and
developments had been
effected,” Mr Mulope claimed.
He contended that the title
was fraud and was intended
to deprive the genuine
occupants, insisting that Ms
Kapata was using her political
position.
Mr Mulope accused the
Minietr of having hired agents
to demolish structures built
so far.
“The act of demolishing
the structures is likely
to prejudice me and my
intended beneficiaries who
have spent colossal sums of
money to develop and may
not be atoned for by way of
damages,” he said.
Mr Mulope now wants the
High Court to make an order
that Mr Malaika executes all
deeds that relates to transfer
of the land in question and
an order that the certificate
of title held by Ms Kapata be
cancelled.

commencement of works.

of the site on Friday last
week and is expected to
commence the works on this
important project in the next
few weeks,” he said.

ANDITS have shot
dead a security
guard at Yotam
Wholesale Shop in Iso-
ka and got away with
about K3, 000, Muchin-
ga Province Commis-
sioner of Police Joel
Njase has confirmed.
Mr Njase said the in-
cident happened on
Wednesday around
01:30 hours in Isoka
Township along the Old
Great North Road.
He identified the vic-
tim as Samuel Mbale of
Katonga village in Chief
Kafwimbi's area.
According to details,
Mr Winner Mugala, aged
70 another watchman at
the shop reported that
his colleague was shot
dead by unidentified
people.
Mr Mugala said he
heard a gunshot and
found his friend lying in
a pool of blood on the
Old Great North Road.
"The brief facts are
that Winner Muga-
la and Samuel Mbale
are watchmen whose
guarding points are the
shops located along the
Old Great North within
Isoka Township.
"Then on 01/07/2020
at around 01:30 hours
Winner Mugala heard a
gunshot about 100 me-
tres from his guarding
point,” he said.
Mr Njase said a team
of officers rushed to the
scene, but the suspects
had already gone.
Officers found Mr
Mbala’s body lying in a
pool of blood along the
Old Great North Road.
Mr Njase said the
body had multiple bul-
let wounds on the face,
chest and stomach pal-
lets are stuck on the
body and some on the
shirt of deceased.
"An expanded emp-
ty plastic cartridge was
found at the scene and it
has since been collected
by the officers and kept
at the police as an ex-
hibit,” he added.
He said it is believed
that after shooting the
watchman, the suspects
broke into the shop and
stole cash K300.00, $150
US dollars (K2, 700) and
20 Tanzanian Shillings
(K140) all amounting to
K3,140.

I AM encouraged to write
this due to the fact that
majority of my followers and
sympathisers do not know
much about what transpired
for me to leave UPND and
join PF.
Firstly, I would like to thank
the UPND leadership for giving
me a platform to serve the
people in different capacities
as a young person under its
umbrella. I hold no bad feelings
with the leadership but as the
saying goes, experience is the
best teacher.
I first joined politics in 2003
barely a few years after PF
was formed and became
an ardent PF youth under
Chawama Constituency. In
2006 I was among the vibrant
young people that mobilised,
campaigned and protected the
votes of our candidates and
delivered first PF victories in
Lusaka, for the late Chawama
MP Reverend Violet Sampa
Bredt and Captain Mulenga now
Northern Province Permanent
Secretary who won as ward 1
Councillor and he is also former
Lusaka District Commissioner.
This is the period, I learnt a
lot of things in politics and knew
strategies to winning formulas
especially in opposition.
In 2008 I got a job at Zambian
Breweries Plc, this is where
I met my brother comrade
Liswaniso Gilbert who was
vocal in speaking for all casual
workers at the company (he had
not yet joined UPND too).
After leaving ZB in 2012, I
immediately rejoined politics,
I was attracted by the UPND
manifesto and policies on
education, youth empowerment
and agriculture. So I started
following all the activities
and later joined a branch in
Kamwala trading area as my
small business was there. In
Kamwala we formed strong
allies with the likes of Martin
Musukuma and others.
I climbed the leadership
ladder from the branch to the
district level where I was a
committee member and later
appointed as Lusaka District
Youth Treasurer. It was during
this period that I experienced
a lot of things, good and bad.

with his rival and he put his
fellow tribesman.
During this same selection
period, I was in the car with
one of my fellow youth leaders
who received a call from a
National Youth Leader (a
secretary) unfortunately to
him and fortunately to me, the
phone was so loud as if on loud
speaker.
This gentleman categorically
stated that don’t put Sampa
on that position, some of these
positions of influence consider

felt empathy for me.

Secretariat premises.
They lied to the people
that I was organising parallel
structures for Bembas to rebel
against the leadership, and
people who trusted me began
to see me differently in the party
hierarchy.
After the District Youth I was
summoned by the province
and national youth leaders,
this meeting was held inside
the UPND National Secretariat
chaired by two national vice
youth chairmen in Mr Munji
Habeenzu and comrade
Liswaniso Gilbert.
Other notable attendees
included Samuel Ngwira,
Anderson Banda,
Mwanakayaya, Morice Miyoba,
Muzinga, Zaire, Chikota who
was the secretary and many
others, the number was more
than 20.
I was questioned and
accused of a lot of issues
that I had nothing to do with.
A few days later I received
a letter of my position being
revoked for refusing to attend
a meeting which I don’t know
up to now and reduced to be
an ordinary member of the
party, I immediately called
Lusaka Province Chairman Hon.
Mwaliteta to tell him about the
injustice that was happening to
me, he only sympathised with
me Was I shaken Yes, did I give
up No.
The day that GBM was
rejoining the Patriotic Front
Party, I was at my small office
working and was putting on my
company embroidered shirt. I
was following GBM’s presser
live on Facebook and saw my
comrade Chikwanda (though he
later rescinded his decision), it
was at this point that I received
a call, it was Godfrey Chitanga
the UPND Lusaka Province
coordinator who said ba

you, I said ok, then the voice
came and the boss was Mr.
William Banda who said to me,
Sampa we are at the Secretariat
right now and the youths here
are saying you have gone with
GBM, I said no boss am actually
working now, he said come
so that we can prove that. My
Sikolokolo didn’t disappoint
me that day, I reached the
Secretariat within 15 mins from
the call.
When I reached the
Secretariat, I didn’t know I
was taking myself mukanwa
kankalamo, I was lynched
by the youth, Chitanga and
Chazanga whisked me into
the SG’s office were I found
Liswaniso, Ngwira, Charmaine
Pule and Suko, they seemed to
know the mess I was in and was
all my fault. I went back to my
business broken, some of the
youths who were turned against
me I used to help them a lot, the
Party that I had sacrificed for
so much, made me look like an
alien or foreigner. I gathered my
strength and told myself not to
give up. Was I shaken Yes, did I
give up No.
Interactions with my fellow
youth leaders had diminished
at this point, I was evicted from
all UPND whatsap foras. I told
myself to continue fighting this
battle, as I tried hard to prove a
point especially by continuing
my mobilisation programmes in
Mandevu, I started seeing signs
of resistance from party officials.
Not everyone can hate you,
some confided in me and told
me they were being instructed
by some senior leaders not
to tolerate or allow me do
any activity in the branches,
wards and constituency. With
my experience in UPND once
you’re blacklisted there’s
nothing for you especially if
you’re coming from the other
category which is not 100
percent trusted.
Then I reached out to team
GBM who was very glad to
re-incorporate me back as a
PF Member or sympathiser. In
my thoughts as I was making
considerations, I recalled
how President Edgar Lungu
interfered in one case involving
a then mere PF youth member
Jay Jay Banda and now Eastern
Province Youth Chairman and
put an end to that conflict, it
gave me hope I was going
into the hands of parent who
hears the cry of every child
regardless. I consulted my
family and relatives, they gave
me their blessings and that’s
how I left UPND to rejoin PF.

GOVT TO RATIFY ILO
CONVENTION C190
...and recommendation 206 for eliminating
violence and harassment in the World of work
T
HE Zambia Congress of Trade Union (ZCTU)
endeavors to promote gender equality in
the labour movement and beyond. It as-
pires to promote zero tolerance to sexual harass-
ment and other forms of Gender Based Violence.
ZCTU recognizes that whilst both women and men
experience violence and harassment in the world of
work, unequal status and power relations in society
and at work often result in women being far more
exposed to violence and harassment.
It is for this reason that ZCTU and its affiliates wel-
comed the adoption of a robust and forward-looking
international labour standard in the form of Con-
vention 190 and Recommendation 206 that aims at
eliminating Violence and Harassment in the world of
work.
The Convention C190 presents an extraordinary
opportunity for unions to move their fight against
gender-based violence forward as it seeks to es-
tablish the right of everyone to a world of work, free
from violence and harassment. It is the first interna-
tional law to do so.
C190 provides a momentum for trade unions and
other stakeholders to fight violence and harass-
ment in the world of work. Unions have an im-
portant role to play to make sure the Convention
becomes part of national laws.
The Zambia Congress of Trade Unions and other
stakeholders are working very hard with Govern-
ment to have the Convention ratified by the Republic
of Zambia.
Gender-based violence and harassment
in the world of work
The Convention defines this as violence and ha-
rassment directed at persons because of their sex
or gender, or affecting persons of a particular sex or
gender disproportionately, and includes sexual ha-
rassment.
Violence and harassment against women because
they are women (for example, bullying of pregnant
women, sexist and belittling insults) would be gen-
der-based violence and harassment.
Violence and harassment against people who are,
or who are perceived to be, gender non-conforming
or gender non-binary would also be gender-based
violence and harassment.
Why is ILO C190 important?
C190 is the “Violence and Harassment” Convention,
adopted on 21 June 2019 by the International Labour
Conference. It establishes the right of everyone to a
world of work free from violence and harassment,
including gender-based violence and harassment.
Who Does the Convention cover?
All individuals in the world of work are covered, in-
cluding:
• Employees as defined by national law and prac-
tice;
• Persons working irrespective of their contractual
status (including, for example, temporary agen-
cy workers, freelance workers, workers hired
through platform businesses);
• Persons in training, including interns and appren-
tices;
• workers whose employment has been terminat-
ed;
• Volunteers;
• Jobseekers and job applicants; and
• Individuals exercising the authority, duties or re-
sponsibilities of an employer. The Convention ap-
plies to all sectors, whether private or public, both
in the formal and informal economy, and whether
in urban or rural areas.

or attend to their health and sanitation need, as well
as at social gatherings”
Does the world of work mean the physical place
of work, such as an office or factory?
The world of work is a broader concept than just the
physical workplace. The workplace can be a pub-
lic space, as it often is for workers in the informal
economy, such as street vendors, market traders
and waste pickers, as well as other workers such as
park wardens.
It can also be a private space as it is for domes-
tic and home-care workers, home-based workers
and individuals who are teleworking. Violence and
harassment in the “world of work” can occur during
work-related events and activities, including off-site
meetings and training, work-related trips and travel
and social activities, such as office parties or out-
ings.
What can trade unions do to make the protec-
tions in C190 and R206 a reality?
Violence and harassment is incompatible with any
notion of decent work. It affects people’s ability to
obtain work and to stay in work, as well as their
physical and mental well-being. It affects workplace
culture, dignity at work and productivity. It is there-
fore a key issue for trade unions to organise around.
Trade unions can, amongst other actions:

• Join the campaign for the ratification of C190:

• Engage in dialogue and policy setting with gov-
ernment representatives and politicians to pre-
vent, address and remedy violence and harass-
ment in the world of work;
• Ensure that measures to prevent, address and
remedy violence and harassment, in line with
C190 and R206, are included in collective bar-
gaining agreements;
• Negotiate workplace policies and procedures on
violence and harassment in the world of work;
• Provide gender-responsive training to trade union
representatives and shop stewards to participate
in risk assessments on violence and harassment
in the world of work;
• Provide gender-responsive training and guide-
lines to trade union representatives and shop
stewards on handling complaints and providing
support to victims of violence and harassment in
the world of work;
• Raise awareness and provide information and
education, in accessible formats, to workers on
violence and harassment in the world of work,
including specific information on gender-based
violence and harassment;
• Ensure that violence and harassment, including
attendant psychosocial risks and hazards, are
part of occupational health and safety measures;
• Negotiate workplace policies and procedures ad-
dressing equality and non-discrimination; and
• provide training to trade union representatives
and shop stewards on equality and non-discrim-
ination, including on handling complaints of dis-
crimination.
Employers and trade unions
• Can assist workers experiencing domestic vio-
lence by negotiating:
• Paid leave for victims of domestic violence;
• Flexible work arrangements and protection; and
• Temporary protection against dismissal for vic-
tims of domestic violence.
Employers and trade unions should also ensure that
domestic violence is included in workplace risk as-
sessments; provide a referral system to public miti-
gation measures for domestic violence, where they
exist; and raise awareness about the effects of do-
mestic violence.
RATIFICATION OF ILO CONVENTION 190 AND
RECOMMENDATION 206 will undoubtedly seek to
cover all aspects of worker and human rights holis-
tically and comprehensively.

THE Liberation Day which
is annually observed every
July 4 in Rwanda officially
marks the end of the Genocide
against the Tutsi which lasted
for 100 days from April 7,
1994.
For Rwandans, it was on this
day 26 years ago, following the
heroic stopping of the genocide
by Rwanda Patriotic Front
(RPF) that heralded the writing
of a new chapter of Rwanda’s
renaissance with focus on
unity of purpose as well as
building a solid foundation for a
developmental state.
Under normal circumstances
this is a day all Rwandans and
friends both in the country and
across the globe get together to
celebrate the country’s history,
take stock of the impressive
progress the country has
registered since the genocide
and commit to moving the
journey ahead of them in unity
and progress.
Covid-19 pandemic
However as the entire
world continues to adjust and
respond to Covid-19 pandemic,
celebration will certainly take
a different format to adhere to
public health safety guidelines.
Covid-19 is a unique and
severe global health crisis that is
impacting and changing the way
we live and governments around
the world including in Rwanda
are prioritising and coordinating
financial and physical resources
to respond to this pandemic
while also taking mitigating
measures to curtail its spread.
Rwanda was one of the first
countries on the continent to
impose a complete nationwide
lockdown and has thus far
unfortunately recorded two
Covid-19 related deaths.
As mitigating measures
against the pandemic bore
commendable fruits, Rwanda in
a measured manner loosened
the lockdown both for the
people and the economy.
Government has mobilised
resources to revive her
economy following the Covid-19
pandemic which has negatively
impacted economic activities.
The projected economic growth
for this year has gone down to
around two percent.
Rwanda’s GDP
This projection is in stark
contrast to 2019 where
Rwanda’s GDP grew by 9.4
percent with the bulk of it
coming from the services sector
which contributed to 49 percent
of the country’s GDP.
Worth noting is that within
Sub-Saharan Africa, an
economic contraction of
between 2.1 percent to 5.1
percent is expected in 2020
depending on the success
measures taken to mitigate the
pandemic’s effect.
This is in sharp contrast to a
2.4 percent economic growth
of this region in 2019. This
contraction will cost the region
between $37 billion and $79
billion (World Bank).
During the lockdown, the
government put into action a
social protection programme to
deliver free food to vulnerable
households. Furthermore a
US$100 million Covid-19 relief
fund has been put aside by
government to revive local
business activity and safeguard
employment.
The fund is also expected
to boost domestic production
of essential goods PPEs such
as masks, gloves, sanitisers,

essential supplies that are
deemed necessary during and
post Covid-19 period.
Additionally a wide range
of tax exemptions aimed at
supporting different sectors of
the economy have been initiated
as a short-term measure.
Rwanda has embraced use
of novel technology solutions
in the fight against Covid-19
by introducing robots that are
used in assisting and increasing
protection of frontline workers
during management and
treatment of Covid-19 patients.
Robots are mainly used for
mass temperature screening,
monitoring patient status and
keeping medical records of
Covid-19 patients. The National
Police is making use of drones
in its sensitisation campaign
efforts against Covid-19 by
educating the populace on how
to guard against Coronavirus
with drones carrying audio
messages across the country.
With the varied interventions
and effective enforcement, an
Oxford University study has
placed Rwanda among the top
10 well prepared countries in
the world that qualify to rollback
Covid-19.
The Oxford University study
was done by examining which
countries meet four of the
World Health Organisation’s six
recommendations for relaxing
their physical distancing
measures.
With its mix of universal health
care, medical supply-delivering
drones and thermometer checks
at its borders and a ranking as
the fourth most resilient country
in Africa according to the
2019 Global Resilience Index,
Covid-19 is indeed yet another
challenge to test Rwanda’s
resilience as a nation.

Meanwhile, in light of the strict
crowd gathering restrictions in
place owing to the Covid-19
pandemic, this will not prevent
Rwandans and friends from
privately reflecting and paying
tribute to the courageous RPF

of Covid-19.
Fifty-eight years ago
Rwanda like many other
African countries became an
independent State. While 58
years is a short time in the life of
a nation, it ought to have been
long enough to make significant
positive changes in the lives of
Rwandans.
Unfortunately for Rwanda,
over 30 years were lost under
a divisive leadership which
only created more problems
for its people with resultant
underdevelopment and the
1994 genocide against Tutsi.
Divisive politics which was
introduced by Rwanda’s
colonial masters in a strategy
meant to divide and conquer
was unfortunately excessively
practiced to the detriment of
Rwandans by the two post-
independence governments.
Excessive ethnicisation
of political life, violence as
a strategy of monopolising
political power, discrimination
and exclusion as a model of
governance was the order of
the day from independence to
the climax that manifested in
the 1994 genocide against Tutsi
that annihilated over a million
lives merely for how they were
created by the Almighty.
It is thanks to the liberation
struggle that was waged by
men and women united under
the RPF that cries of millions of
refugees that had been denied
a right to statehood and millions
others that were suffering inside
Rwanda were all answered
through the liberation of July 4,
1994.
Since then the new leadership
embarked on an unstoppable
journey of rebuilding the country
from scratch. The first phase of
liberation, was a military one,
this was at the time the only
feasible option to defeat the
dictatorial regime and architects
of the Genocide.
The liberation
struggle
The liberation struggle that
run from October of 1990 to
July 4, 1994 which was led
by President Paul Kagame,
came out of necessity and
a compelling desire for the
survival of the nation of Rwanda.
The liberation struggle was
fought and won by Rwandans
who resolved to risk their lives
for the greater goal of liberating
their country. And liberate it,
they did. Those who comprised
the genocidal government that
planned and executed the
genocide run into disarray.
Unfortunately some of the
Genocide fugitives continue to
roam freely in some countries
around the globe. Justice for
genocide victims remains a
paramount objective for the
Government of Rwanda, just
as it should be for international
community.
Fittingly during the 100 days
of the 26th Commemoration of
the Genocide against the Tutsi,

Rwanda welcomed news that
one of the leading architects
and financiers of the Genocide
against the Tutsi, Félicien
Kabuga, had been arrested in
Paris by French authorities on
May 16, 2020.
Kabuga was indicted by the
United Nations International
Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda
in 1997 on seven counts of
genocide. Kabuga, who had
a US$5 million bounty on his
head, was heavily involved in
the founding and bankrolling of
the notorious hate radio “Radio
Télévision Libre des Milles
Collines” (RTLM), and several
newspapers which were actively
used in mass mobilisation and
incitement to commit genocide.
Kabuga, now aged 85, is
also credited for using his
vast wealth in importing more
than 500, 000 machetes into
Rwanda which were used by
Interahamwe militias in carrying
out mass killings during the
Genocide against Tutsi.
Despite evading justice for 26

Mulenga reiterated
Governments commitment to
develop sports in the country
during the official launch of the
Zambia Professional Cricket
Association league (ZPCA)
yesterday at Protea Hote in
Lusaka. Mulenga said the
government through his ministry
and the Ministry of Health
working with the National Sports
Council of Zambia (NSCZ) has
taken far reaching Covid-19
preventive measures to reduce
the impact of the pandemic.
He said President Edgar
Lungu allowed sports in the
categories of non-contact and
semi contact sports to resume
provided the federations follow
the health guidelines.
Mulenga urged sports
disciplines in the full contact
category such as Boxing to wait
for guidance as to when they will
resume their sports activities.
“All sports federations are
therefore expected to adhere
to strict guidelines failure to
which will result in suspension of
activities,” Mulenga said.
Meanwhile Mulenga hailed
ZPCA for the strides made to
develop cricket as a sport.
“This is a clear indication of
how much sports is developing
in this country. I therefore wish
to congratulate the executive
of the ZPCA for this great
milestone and supplementing
the government’s efforts in
developing cricket in this
country,” he said. And ZPCA
president Kushal Jain hailed
Government for allowing the
association to launch the league
which will be played with no fans
allowed to watch games.

1.0 SENIOR ANALYST-ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT ZRA05 (1 POSITION)
Reporting directly to the Manager–Enterprise Risk Management, the job holder will be
responsible for day to day support of the Divisions/Departments in the execution of all
enterprise risk management activities to enable the Authority manage vulnerabilities and
threats both internal and external.
MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
The main duties and accountabilities for this position include but not limited to the follow-
ing:
- Support client divisions and departments in identifying, documenting, analysing and
treating risks including business continuity strategies for the Authority;
- Provide quality assurance on the adherence to controls in place;
- Organise and manage risk assessment process and analyse impact on, and risk to,
essential business functions or information systems;
- Conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to assess internal and external threats and the
risk they pose to the Authority and community and recommends mitigation strategies to
reduce or eliminate identified risks;
- Coordinate testing of documented disaster recovery strategies and plans;
- Initiate and coordinate training and awareness programs in liaison with divisional risk
managers.
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or General Certificate of Education or Equivalent
Degree in Social Sciences, Business, ICT or any related field;
- Certification in Risk Management or any related certifications such as CRISC, CISA,
BCI, etc. is mandatory; and
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a Risk Management role.

2.0 ICT OFFICER SECURITY - DATABASE ADMINISTRATI0N ZRA06 (1 POSITION)
Reporting directly to the Senior ICT Officer - Security, the job holder will be responsible for
effectively supporting the ZRA business through the provision of timely, cost effective, efficient
and professional I.T. Security through consultation, agreements and research, with ZRA IT,
Divisions and service providers. This includes protecting the confidentiality, availability and
integrity of information and maintaining the technical mechanisms of legitimate access to it.
MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for maintaining the integrity and performance of all ICT databases
- Monitoring of database administrators’ activities on Oracle and non - oracle databases
- Ensure data consistency between central and remote databases.
- Providing database compliance reports to management by consolidating Audit data from
databases, operating systems and directories.
- Ensuring the security and confidentiality of ICT databases data
- Review workflow charts developed by programmer analyst to understand tasks computer
will perform, such as updating records;
- Design, implement and administer the security of critical applications to provide best of the
breed database security and reporting;
- Perform security related tasks and provide incident resolution – interacting with users
verbally and via written communications, collaborating with external partners including
those outside the Security team;
- To review and implement the organization’s information security standards, policies and
procedures to achieve business objectives;
- To carry out information security awareness and training for business units;
- To ensure that all existing ICT systems are properly licensed;
- To ensure adherence to ICT standards, policies and procedures by all business units,
service providers and consultants; and
- To carry out research on the latest and/or most effective database auditing technology and
Cyber Security trends.
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or General Certificate of Education or Equivalent
- Minimum of Degree in Computer Science or equivalent;
- Minimum of two years’ work experience in the ICT profession;
- Database certification in Oracle or Microsoft;
- Proven experience in Oracle and other databases; and
- Proven experience in ICT Security.
