are rectangular (e.g allium cepa). However, both come in many various shapes and sizes depending on
the cell’s particular function like in some plant cells might be in irregular polygons/shapes,(e.g. zea mays
leaf) but the presence of cell wall is what gives them their characteristic block-like shape and to have
distinct rigid edges.
