Employee Giving Programme For Magic Bus
Employee Giving Programme For Magic Bus
Fund Utilization:
Below is the outline of a typical Magic Bus programme. However, given the current Covid-19 pandemic
and social distancing norms, several aspects of the programme are in the process of transitioning into
virtual/digital programmes.
1. Programme:
a. 30 Sports for Development sessions each year per child. These sessions focus on building core life
skills. i.e. the ability to manage oneself, be confident and resilient, and have education and career
aspirations.
b. 30 Application Touch Points that are project/ activity based work that children do, to apply what they
learned in their sessions.
c. Quarterly formal meetings with parents so that there is an alignment between what children are
being taught and how they’re being supported at home.
d. A focus on children vulnerable to dropping out- home visits, encouragement to participate in School
Management Committees, etc.
e. At least two events every year that ensure the whole community gets positive messaging with regard
to support for the girl child and for adolescent aspiration.
f. Regular updates to local administrators so that there is a buy-in for the programme from the system
3. Creating an efficient support team – HR, Finance, IT, Programme Development and Monitoring &
Evaluation – that can manage the reporting, development and assessment challenges of programming at
scale.
All our investments in people emerge from our commitment to enable more adolescents to successfully
transition into adulthood and the world of work. As a result 79% of young people on the Magic Bus
programme are now in salaried work and less than 5% drop out of elementary school.
