User Operating System

An operating system is system software that manages computer hardware, software resources
and provides common services for computer programs.

On the basis of user numbers, there are two types of user operating system-

1. Single-user operating system.


2. Multi-user operating system.

Single user operating system

A single-user operating system is a type of system that has been developed and designed to use
on a computer. It can be used on a similar device, and it only has one user at a time. It's the most
common system used for home computers. 

Features of single user operating system:

 Supports one user at a time.


 Concentrates on one task.
 Idle time is higher.

Multi-user operating system

A multi user operating system is that which handles and controls multiple users attached to a
single computer. 

Features of multi-user operating system:

 Printing jobs in the office or library can be best handled by multi user
operating system. 
 Each user can access same document on own pc.
 If one computer in the network gets error then other computers not get
affected.
