LESSON PLANNING

Creating this plan has taught me that creating lesson plans are not as easy as I originally

believed. I found it very challenging to be creative for every aspect of the plan, as I did not want

to become one of the teachers who revert to using worksheets as a means of instruction. I have

come to learn from this process that while lecture and worksheets may be easier to plan than per

say a Web Quest, I do now believe that the quality of the lesson is very rich with the technology

that I have incorporated into my unit plan. On the topic of technology, I can honestly say that I

have never learned about more computer programs and interactive websites than what I have in

these past four weeks. I always saw myself as a person who was fairly up to date nontechnology

but even being out of college for just two years has made me realize that technology in the

classroom is not helpful but you teach without it.

THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY IN LEARNING TEACHING PROCESSASSESMENT OF

STUDENTS LEARNING

Modern technology offers educators a variety of new tools that can be used in the

classroom. Technology can help teachers track and assess their students' -- as well as their own --

performance in the classroom. It can also be used to facilitate communication between students

and teachers and to create digital records of student growth and development that can easily be

passed along from grade to grade.

Teachers can use technology to make their own work more productive -- teachers can use

spreadsheets to track student work and also track their teaching plans. If a group of students is

performing poorly in a particular area, this kind of record keeping can highlight areas that the

teacher needs to focus on in their own teaching.
