Breif Note on Proposed Lift / Gravity scheme to feed

Annamayya Project Reservoir / ayacut from GNSS Canal

The Annamayya Project Reservoir is located at Badanagadda Village of Rajampeta
Mandal in Y.S.R.Kadapa District. The Annamayya Project Main Canal is crossing the GNSS Main
Canal at Km 167.866 of Package-6 under Phase-II of GNSS. A lift scheme was proposed to feed the
Annamayya Project Reservoir earlier. The details of the Lift scheme is as follows
 Gross Storage Capacity of Annamayya Project Reservoir : 2.234 TMC
 Proposed Capacity of Water to lift from the GNSS main
canl to the Reservoir : 2.00 TMC
 Assumed number of days for pumping : 30 days
 Assumed pumping per day : 2 X 11574/30 = 772Cusecs
or say 800 cusecs
 Discharge required to pump 2 TMC in to the Reservoir in 800 Cusecs/day or
30 days : 23 Cumecs/day
 Available water level in the canal : +187.329
 Bottom level of the pump : +185.329
 Platform level of the pump : +189.700
 Delivery Level at cistern at Annmayya Project Reservoir
Forshore : +204.600
 Static Head : 17.27m
 Losses : 4.67m
 Total Head required : 21.941m or say 22m
 Total Power required : 5.94 Mw
 Diameter of the pipe : 2.50m
 No of rows : 2Rows
 Length of Pipe : 2.00Km
 Tentative Cost as per SSR 2012-13 : 50 Crores

Ayacut proposed under Gravity

The Annamayya Project ayacut can be directly irrigated by excavating a
Leeding channel from GNSS Main Canal at Chainage Km167.860 for length of approxmatley
2.00Km with carrying capacity of 160Cusecs similar to the existing Annamayya Project Main Canal.
Accordingly nearly 0.5 TMC of water can be drawn by way of Gravity through out the leeding
channel from the GNSS Main Canal over period of 30 days to feed the Annamayya Project ayacut to
improve the Ground water and to recharge six Minor Irrigation Tanks available with in the ayacut of
Annamayya Project.
