Concave and Convex Lenses
Concave and Convex Lenses
Concave lens - a lens made in such a way that a parallel beam of light passing through it is caused to diverge or spread
out.
Convex lens a.k.a. converging lens – lens made in such a way that a beam of light passing through it is brought to a
point or focus.
The difference between concave and convex lenses is the way the lens bends. Concave lenses tend to bend inwards
while convex lenses bend in an outward direction. Convex lenses are also thicker in the middle than that of concave
lenses.
