MRR # 1 (ACT OF PROCLAMATION OF INDEPENDENCE OF THE FILIPINO

PEOPLE)

1) The three things that I significantly learned from the readings are…
a) all those with power who is in top will either suppress and abuse their power for their
own reason or will help the weak just to make their image good for the public and
supporters.
b) only those with higher education will have a significant impact against the Spaniards
and those who don’t will only be abuse and be tormented in their unjustified act.
c) up until now when the proclamation of independence was sign, we were never free
from the slavery, not with the Spaniards, but those at the government who stays in
power and steal money from their own people they promise to serve and protect.

2) The three things that are still unclear to me are…

a) why would the conquered be abuse and their own right be strip off from them when
they are the people of the land and use them as an additional man power to help them
in their trading market.
b) why can’t the government of Spaniards treat the people of the Philippines with the
same rights as their own people so that conflict and war can be avoided.
c) how can tearing a piece of paper(sedula) can spark the revolution of the Filipinoes.

3 )I used to think that…

In the hands of our own nationality, the Filipinos, I thought that it would change
everything by having equal right, but along the years, the government today is just the
replacement or the new corrupt Spaniards that once abuse and destroy our very own
land and its people.

4) The three questions that I want to ask about the readings are…
a) are we free from the terror and abuse from the corrupt government or still chained
like a slaves?
b) did the sacrifice of hundred katipuneroes mean anything today if the government
today is as corrupt and abusive as the Spaniards who conquered us?
c)do we still need a revolution to have a new government so that a new independence
can be proclaimed that can benefit everyone today?
