How to Give Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation


1. Kneel alongside the casualty
2. Visualize center of the chest
3. Place one heel of the hand on the center of the
chest
4. Place the heel of the other hand on top of the
other hand
5. Interlock the fingers of the hands
6. Position yourself so that you are directly above
the casualty’s chest
7. Keep compressing arm straight
8. Compress the chest. Do not pivot from your
hips.

How to Deliver Good Quality CPR


1. Perform chest compression at a rate of 100 –
120/min
2. Compress to a depth at least 2 inches (5cm)
3. Allow full recoil after each compression
4. Minimize pauses in compressions
5. Ventilate adequately ( 2 breaths after 30
compressions, each breath delivered over 1
second, each causing chest rise)
