FACT

there is a presumption that this old group be a 'burden,' on

the other hand, has invited the attention of many experts in
the various disciplines

Many experts regard this phenomenon of the elderly paced

'grim.'

In fact, many governments developing countries do not yet

feel ready, and tend ignore the presence of this old group
(Hugo,forthcoming; Jones, 1988).
Trend and Issues Regarding Panti Werdha
Demands of the profession or occupation
confiscated almost all the time the family so
they no longer have the opportunity to provide
the attention and care of their parents

Parents who entered the elderly

neglected socially, culturally and
physcology. They become alienated,
increasingly lonely and abandoned
at house.
TREND AND ISSUES REGARDING PANTI
WERDHA

The number of elderly  Changing Time  change

population has increased, big family to small family
this is caused problems such
as :
 Changing structure in family
- Poverty become more view elderly
- Violation of the law to be a burden for family
- Displaced
So that the elderly are more
dependent on their needs
NURSING HOME/ ELDERLY HOME
BE ONE SOLUTION

Elderly nursing in the

future be increasingly

Elderly home in the future

will be a choice and a
solution to the social
changes that occur in
society, therefore
Elderly nursing should not
be underestimated.
VIEWED FROM SIDE CULTURE
In Indonesian society is still adhering to the
culture siri 'or the culture of shame :
includes embarrassed if their parents enter into homes
Werdha because they do not serve. The values in our
country that child should take care of the parents and
live under one roof

The development of social perceptions that panti is the

place to separation the elderly to the family's
RELIGION
In the context of religion, the honor and
respect to parents / elderly is one part of
the worship horizontal (fellow human
beings).

One form of religious conception that child

have to maintain, caring and dutiful to his
parents

Forms in less humane treatment of a child to

a parent / elderly are a rebellious child
categories.
TIMBUL PERTANYAAN
1. bahwa apakah jika seorang anak menitipkan orang tuanya
di panti werdha disebabkan oleh kondisi sosio-ekonominya
kurang mendukung dalam perspektif agama dan budaya
dianggap sebagai bentuk “kedurhakaan”?.

IMPLIKASI KEPERAWATAN

Perawat mulai saat ini perlu memberikan

pemahaman kepada masyarakat bahwa nursing
home for elderly/day care dapat menjadi pilihan
keluarga untuk menitipkan orang tua/lansia dengan
memberikan pengertian dan pemahaman bahwa
dengan menitipkan lansia di nursing home bukan
berarti mereka dibuang oleh keluarga, sehingga
dapat menerima keberadaannya tinggal di panti
sebagai solusi terbaik untuk perawatannya.

NAMUN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA ADALAH YANG

TERPENTING !!!
