ABOUT
ME

PROJECTS

DESIGN CONCLUSION
I enjoy working as a mechanical engineer because I find it gratifying to be able to solve complex
problems by splitting it into smaller, simpler problems, within a specified budget and time constrain. I
have acquired a sound knowledge of engineering principles, tools, and practices, with emphasis on
designing, conceptualization, prototyping and testing. To keep myself up-to-date in the design domain, I
became proficient in various CAD software packages like SolidWorks, CATIA, UG-NX to name a few, which
are essential pillars of design. My professional work experience as a Junior Designer for North American
Stamping Group and my years of academic background have given me strong technical foundation and
exposure to work environment. I thrive in high pressure environments handling multiple projects.
Through my numerous projects, I have become adept at managing teams, while maintaining attention to
detail to produce high quality deliverables. My key strengths include multi-tasking, problem solving and
organization skills, which I have accrued through various successful University projects. I’m inherently
observant, well-focused and like exploring new ways of designing and adding up my expertise in design
principles.
Finally, I enjoy working in a team setting. From my past experience, I implemented a system for
scheduling team meetings without any conflicts.

• Designed a structure to hold additional number of instrument
panels
• Modified the existing dolly to reduce the cost and to be eco-
friendly
• Utilized Lean manufacturing principles to reduce wastage in the
process
• Performed stress and fatigue analysis to ensure load bearing
capability of structure
• Carried out cost analysis and conformance to the lane width of
plant
• Added Gussets to the structure to improve shear loading condition
• Reduced time wastage of operator by 12.8%
• Designed a structure to lift flanges from the pallet to the
horizontal lathe
• Structure could lift blind flanges of various thickness by
changing the position using clevis pins
• Holes on the top assists in holding flanges of various
diameters
• Added backing plate to strengthen the plates from shear
loading
• Performed stress and fatigue analysis using Solidworks
• Carried out budget study to manufacture product
• Designed a multi-plate heat exchanger in Solidworks and
exported the model to be laser-cut
• Constructed the heat exchanger from Acrylic sheets and
aluminum plates for testing
• Carried out thermal simulation using ANSYS-AIM for heat
flux and temperature of the output
• Performed physical testing of the model in thermal lab
• Obtained one of the highest heat fluxes in class
• Modelled a manhole cover from an actual model and performed fatigue
life analysis using rain flow counting technique
• Assumed the loading conditions like number of people stepping on the
manhole cover and the number of maintenance vehicle rolling over it
• Predicted the damage to be 1.6 E-10 for a given set of assumed loading
conditions
• Researched various manholes in the market for dimensions
• Modelled the manhole cover in Solidworks and prepared a drawing of the
same
• Observed the surroundings for potential needs and
shortlisted the need to assist people suffering from
upper extremities disorders
• Brainstormed various solutions to tackle the problem
• Finalised on the Y-shaped design based on
inspiration from Origami
• Design was foldable to ensure portability and had
magnets to keep the design snapped shut
• Design also had rubber padding on the inner arms for
better traction while using on door knobs
• Modelled a pneumatic powered exoskeleton for the arm and
knee to assist in locomotion
• Acquired the raw material and manufactured the prototype
from scratch
• Machined the raw materials using hand drills, Power Hacksaw
and Horizontal Lathes
• Used Pneumatic Muscles(McKibben) to actuate the arm and
bellow was used for the knee
• Testing of the prototype provided 25-40% of assistance for
locomotion
• Designed the transmission system for an electric
go-kart based on the specifications given in the
rule book
• Collaborated with sellers and suppliers to source
the battery, throttle pad, motor and cables for
circuit
• Mounted the components and tested the go-kart
• Participated in a go-kart race and won 4th place
among 20 participating teams from various
engineering institution across the country
• Designed pole of 6 feet height that could
withstand wind speeds up to 60 kmph
• Design was based on calculations taking into
account various factors like sensors
positioning, adverse environmental effects
and signal connectivity
• Modelling of various components using
Autodesk Inventor software
• Designed a scoop to protect the sensor
array from damage during farming
• Analysis was done on CATIA for feasibility of
the design
• Designed jig for fixing Distribution Current Distribution
Box (DCDB) panel assembly and mounting brackets on
the aircraft
• Two jigs were made - One for locating the holes on the
aircraft body and the other for drilling the holes on the
DCDB Box
• Used CATIA V5 along with guidance from supervisor to
optimize design to meet the requirements of large client
(Hindustan Aeronautics Limited)
• Optimized safer design for electronic components used
and reduced amount of material required by 6% as
compared to the previous design
