Color Schemes
Find photos that clearly illustrate two different color schemes. Choose from: monochromatic,
complementary, analogous, accented neutral, or triad.

In the table below, replace the words "Color Scheme" below with the color scheme you are
illustrating and insert your photo in the table. Write a short description of the photo.

Color Scheme
In this image the outfit is an
example of an analogous color
scheme. There is strong contrast in
this outfit due to the color choices
of red, blue and yellow. The strong
vertical lines found in this outfit
created through the buttons that
follow the buttons along the shirt
and vest along with the lines
created by the sports coat. These
lines create a strong and tall
silhouette. Horizontal line is
created through the bow tie and
makes the neck look larger.
However, the stripes found on the
bowtie create horizontal lines
which makes the neck look
taller/longer as well.
Color Scheme
This outfit is an example of a
monochromatic color scheme. The
texture found in the sweater,
jacket, and purse creates depth and
definition to this outfit. It gives the
outfit interest. The crease in the
pant legs creates a vertical line
following the mid line of the leg.
This line creates a look of longer
legs and a taller silhouette.
