GOAL 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
Personally, I like this goal because I am trying to have a sustainable lifestyle
but currently, I am failing because I am still young ang living with my family, thus they don’t have the same belief as I am. I believe that creating a sustainable city includes a lot of effort. On the other hand, I am practicing my sustainability through clothing and I believe that that is just the start or part of having a sustainable community. I am happy that there are progresses in this goal. It includes, between 1990 and 2016, the proportion of the global urban population living in slums fell from 46 to 23 per cent. This progress was largely offset by internal population growth and rural-urban migration. In 2016, just over 1 billion people lived in slums or informal settlements, with over half (589 million) living in East, South-East, Central and South Asia. I believe, that living in Asia is a whole kind of different struggle because we aren’t as develop as other countries in Europe and America. However, I still believe that we can do this. I can put this into practice by promoting inclusive, safe, and resilient city. It is easy for me by using my online platform and spreading information that can help this goal to progress.
