EVERZIT® Mn
for removing iron and manganese
Application
EVERZIT® Mn – filter material (acc. EN 13752), based on a mixed oxide, is used in water
treatment for removing solved iron and manganese. The active surface of EVERZIT® Mn
– filter material facilitates the oxidation of iron and manganese in oxygen-containing water
and the formation of well-filterable hydrated oxide flocks.
Advantages
reliable removal of manganese at pH-values from 6,5
EVERZIT® Mn does not require any work-in time.
In contrast to hitherto known procedures, the water is demanganized
spontanously.
EVERZIT® Mn does not have to be reactivated, e. g. by adding potassium
permanganate (KMnO4) solution.
high charging at minimum contact time and high filter speeds
EVERZIT® Mn is carbon dioxide-proof
Due to its carbon dioxide resistance and the ability of EVERZIT® Mn to reliably separate
manganese at very low pH-values, the demanganization can be done without increasing
the pH-value.

Technical Data
Filter speed: 10 – 25 m/h
Backwash speed: ≥ 65 m/h
Expansion on flushing: > 15 %
Material losses: < 1 % /year
Procedure
1. Oxygen charging (if required)
2. Filtration for iron and manganese separation (EVERZIT® Mn)
This combination allows a safe, cost-effective and maintenance-poor procedure. The
whole treatment can be made without hydraulic interruption using the raw water pumps.
Following the new drinking water regulations (01.01.2003) this simple procedure may also
be used for soft and medium-hard waters, since due to the changed pH-value
requirements (pH-values > 7,7 or calcite solving capacity < 5 mg/l), it is no longer
necessary to increase the hardness of these waters.
Hygienics
Odour: odourless
Taste: tasteless
EVERZIT® Mn – filter material does not give any substances to the drinking water and is
in conformity with the requirements of the act on foodstuffs and goods in daily use.
Packing
EVERZIT® Mn – filter material is supplied in:
25 kg plastic bags
1.000 kg Big-Bags
