district) from 9 p.m. on Friday

universities  say  they  are  pre­
pared to conduct final year ex­
aminations  as  directed  by  the
University  Grants  Commission
(UGC).  The  rest  are  undecided
or yet to inform the UGC of their
decision, 10 days after the guide­
lines were issued, according to
data from the regulator.
“Universities  were  ap­
proached to inform the status of
the  conduct  of  examination,”
the UGC said in a statement on
Thursday.  Out  of  993  universi­
ties, 182 have informed the UGC
that they have already conduct­
ed  the  examination,  while
another  272  plan  to  do  so.
