Year 10 ~ French Revision Guidelines

January examinations

In the January exam you will sit the following papers :

 Paper 2 ~ Reading and Directed Writing paper

 Paper 4 ~ Writing paper

Paper 1 (Listening) will take place in lesson time in December and will
take approximately 35 minutes. You will be given a past IGCSE paper, in
order to get you used to the exam format under exam conditions.
However, the paper will not be as long as the real thing; some questions
will have been removed.
The exercises will range from easy questions at the start to harder ones
at the end ; this is always the case.

Paper 2 will take place in the hall during your exam week and will take one
hour. This is basically a comprehension paper and you will have to answer
‘vrai/faux’ exercises, multiple choice questions and questions requiring
one word, short phrase or full sentence answers in French. Again this will
be a past IGCSE paper which has been shortened.

Paper 4 will take place in the hall during your exam week and will take
45minutes. The question has been chosen to reflect the topics you
have covered so far in Year 10.

Revision List
You will need to look back over and revise all the work you have covered
over the past term.

Grammar points are as follows :~

 Present tense
 Perfect tense ‘avoir’ & ‘être’ verbs
 Countries and prepositions
 Question forms
