Movie: Princess Diaries

SCENE 1

*all in positions pero naka freeze*

*Main Guy enters na nagphophone*

MG: Oh! Someone left a movie playing on the TV.

*Main Guy 2 enters with a snack*

MG2: You’re home already? Great! Want to watch a movie? *sits down*

MG: Sure! What’s the movie anyway?

MG2: Princess Diaries.

MG: Ew bro! You watch those kinds of movies?

MG2: Why not? Just because I’m a guy I can’t watch this movie?

MG: … fair enough. Just play it already.

MG2: Fine.

MG: Okay so what’s happening right now?

MG2: Right now, there’s a whole debate going on about the school’s dress code. The popular people
want to wear casual clothes while the nerds still want the uniforms. The girl right there *points* is Mia.
She’s the main character. *plays the scene*

*actors start moving*

FIRST SCENE SA MOVIE

Josh: So this is not a debate. This is a control issue! Grove controls our minds with what they teach us
but you know what, they’re not satisfied with that. I think Grove should dump the uniforms and we
should have casual dress all year long!!

*crowd cheers*

Teacher: Okay, okay settle down settle down! This is a debate and after it’s over you should go back to
wearing your school uniform. Now we all heard from Josh Bryant, for the affirmative--

Mia: What’s my point again?

Lilly: You like our uniforms. They’re equalizers.

Teacher: Now hear the rebuttal from Mia Thermopolis, who will present the negative argument against
our proposition.

Mia: Uhm I think. Uhm

*Crowd whispers and makes noises*

Mia: Uhm uh you see.. uhm I… see casual—c-casual….. *is about to vomit*

Some Girl: Look out she’s gonna hurl!

Mia: *runs out of the room*

MG: Wait Wait Wait. Hold up. *MG2 pauses, actors freeze* What just happened? Why did she ran out?

MG2: I’m going to explain since you missed some parts. As you have noticed, Mia isn’t really popular.
She’s a shy-type girl who freezes when she talks to a crowd. When she was about to deliver her rebuttal,
she lacked confidence to do so at the same time, her classmates were noisy. That’s why she was unable
to say her speech.

MG: Oh I get it… *checks watch* Oh shoot I have homework to do. Can you just skip to the main parts
please?

MG2: Really? Fine then *fast forwards* *actors quickly prepare for next scene* *MG2 plays when the
actors are ready*

MG: Okay what’s happening now?

MG2: Mia is having a talk with her grandmother and well… you’ll see.

SECOND SCENE SA MOVIE

Clarisse: Emilia, have you ever heard of Edward Kristoff Phillip Gerald Renaldi?

Mia: No.
Clarisse: He was the crown prince of Genovia

Mia: Hmm!.... What about him?

Clarisse: Edward Kristoff Phillip Gerald Renaldi… was your father.

Mia: *laughs* Yeah my father is the crown prince of Genovia uh-huh you’re joking.

Clarisse: Why would I joke about something like that?

Mia: No! No. ‘Cause if he’s really a prince, then I’m--

Clarisse: Exactly, you’re not just Emilia Thermopolis. You are Emilia Minonette Thermopolis Renaldi—
Princess of Genovia.

Mia: M-me? A princess? SHUT UP.

Clarisse: I beg your pardon? Shut up?

Translator: Your Majesty, in America, it doesn’t always mean to quieten down.

Clarisse: Oh I understand, thank you. *pause* Nevertheless, you are the princess and I am Queen
Clarisse Renaldi.

Mia: Why on earth would you pick me to be your princess?

Clarisse: Since your father died, you are the natural heir to the throne of Genovia—that’s our law. I’m
royal by marriage. You are royal by blood. You can rule.

Mia: Rule? Oh no oh no no no. Now you have really got the wrong girl. I never lead anybody. Uhm.
Queen Clarisse, my expectation in life is to be invisible and I’m good at it.

Clarisse: Emilia, I had other expectations also. In my wildest dreams I never expected this to happen. But
you are the legal heir—the only heir to the Genovian throne and we will accept the challenge in helping
you become the princess that you are. Given time, I think you would find the palace in Genovia a very
pleasant place to live--

Mia: Live in Genovia? Whoa whoa j-just rewind and freeze!

Clarisse: I--

Mia: I’m no princess, I’m still waiting for normal body parts to arrive! I refuse to move to AND rule a
country! And you want another reason? I DON’T WANT TO BE A PRINCESS!
C: Oh—Emilia! Emilia! Come back here!

*runs out*

MG2: *pauses, actors freeze* So there you go.

MG: Whoa she was a princess?

MG2: Yep. I mean the movie is called “Princess Diaries” soooo….

MG: *laughs* True. I’m laughing at the queen though. She though Mia told her to shut up! *laughs*
Priceless!

MG2: Too bad she ran out though. I get that she’s angry and confused but the queen still has something
to say. Running away just cuts off their talk right there and then.

MG: Oh well *stands up* thanks for making me watch it. Maybe I’ll watch it fully later after I’ve done my
homework. Bye now enjoy the rest of the movie!
