Forward Looking Statements Notice
This roadmap document contains “forward-looking statements” as defined under the Federal Securities Laws. Actual results or deliverables could differ
materially from those projected in the forward-looking statements as a result of certain risk factors, including but not limited to: (i) adverse changes in
general economic or market conditions; (ii) delays or reductions in information technology spending; (iii) risks associated with acquisitions and
investments, including the challenges and costs of integration, restructuring and achieving anticipated synergies; (iv) competitive factors, including but
not limited to pricing pressures and new product introductions; (v) the relative and varying rates of product price and component cost declines and the
volume and mixture of product and services revenues; (vi) component and product quality and availability; (vii) the transition to new products, the
uncertainty of customer acceptance of new product offerings and rapid technological and market change; (viii) insufficient, excess or obsolete inventory;
(ix) war or acts of terrorism; (x) the ability to attract and retain highly qualified employees; (xi) fluctuating currency exchange rates; and (xii) other one-

Dell EMC Unity ESRS
Background Information
• In Dell EMC Unity OE 4.1.1 and higher, the ESRS Readiness check can be
run to determine if ESRS can be configured
– Checks the Dell EMC Unity configuration/settings for issues
– Checks network connectivity to ESRS servers or gateway server
• In the Condor release Dell EMC personnel can use their RSA SecurID
credentials to configure ESRS on a system
– Currently the RSA SecurID is used in place of validating the Access Code via email
Note: This is the equivalent of entering the RSA Credentials on the Email Verification
step in Unisphere
32 Dell – Internal Use – Confidential Pre-GA: Material subject to change.
Configure Integrated ESRS with RSA Credentials
New Hidden Unisphere CLI Command – uemcli /sys/support/esrsi enableWithSupport
Note: This is the equivalent of enabling Integrated ESRS after the Email Verification step
in Unisphere.
Note: No longer available in Condor OE and up. This was previously used as the
equivalent of entering the RSA Credentials on the Email Verification step in Unisphere
Steps:
1. uemcli /sys/support/esrsi set –type twoWay
2. uemcli /sys/support/esrsi set –enable yes
As no valid support credentials are configured, you have to
contact Dell EMC support to do the finalization work for enabling
Outbound/Inbound ESRS. Otherwise, ESRS will be in a bad state. Do
you want to proceed (yes/no) yes
3. uemcli /sys/support/esrsi enableWithSupport –username xxxx
–password xxxx
Note: If support credentials were entered before step 2 and are still valid, then step 2
completes successfully and step 3 is not needed

SYSTEM ALERTS
ESRS VE High Availability Cluster Support
Overview
• In the Condor release two gateway server IPs can be entered to support a
ESRS VE cluster
– A primary and secondary IP for the cluster can be entered when configuring
Centralized ESRS
• If the primary server is unavailable, Dell EMC Unity will automatically switch
to the secondary gateway server
• Configuring Centralized ESRS with RSA Credentials is supported
• Provider log:
– /EMC/CEM/log/cemtracer_emcsupport.log
– /EMC/CEM/log/cemtracer_uiservices.log
• Log messages:
– 0x14:0x380038 Failed to connect to ESRS VE server %2, failing over to %3.
– 0x14:0x380039 Failed to connect to any configured ESRS VE server(s).
– 0x14:0x38003a Connection to ESRS VE server %2 has recovered.

Drive Firmware Upgrades
Overview
• In the Condor and future releases the drive firmware bundle will be included
in the OE file downloaded from Dell EMC
– Applicable to upgrade files for physical systems only
– The drive firmware package will be staged within the system
SYSTEM ALERTS
Automatically Clear Solved Alerts
Background Information
• There are multiple ways to review the health of a Dell EMC Unity system
– In Unisphere the user can review the following:
› The “View System Status” icon (Green checkmark when healthy)
› The information within the System Health Dashboard View Block
› The information on the System View page
› The Alerts page
• When reviewing the alert event log, the user is presented with all alerts that
have occurred on the system
– In general, it can be hard for a user to determine which issues are current, and
which ones are resolved
– The user may need to search for a specific time frame, sort the view, or filter the
results

-id <value>
Identifies the alert to deactivate.
You should only deactivate an alert when the issue has been
solved. Once the alert has been deactivated, it can't be
activated again. Do you want to proceed?
