I.GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION

Program Title: i-Robot Capstone
Program Description: Innovative Robotics Capstone Training-workshop with research
Proponents: JHOMAR B. JARAVATA and JEAN J. PESIMO
Teacher III Teacher I
Bula National High School - SHS Bula National High School - JHS
Duration: December 8,14 and 15, 2018 (3 days = 24 hours)
Management Level of Program: School Based
Delivery Mode: 3-Day Training-Workshop
Direct Beneficiaries: STEM students of Bula National High School-SHS
Indirect Beneficiaries: Other invited STE and CSOC students and Teachers of JHS of BNHS
Budget Requirements Php 3,000.00 (three thousand pesos)-care of STEM IGP
Competency Gap: Lack of knowledge, competency and awareness of the Teachers and
students in making Innovations that can be used in research project.
Values and Competencies: Appreciation of Research concepts through updates and workshop.
Outputs: The participants;
A. Formal Face-to-Face Component a. will be able to customize robots that can be used in research
B. Job-Embedded Learning project
Component b. will have the ability assemble and program robots
Organizational The result of this seminar workshop will be an avenue to conduct similar
Outcome: program related to this activity.
Development Impact: -This will serve as motivation to support and conduct another innovative
activity in the other field of specialization.
-The participants will become innovative in making basic research,
programing and customizing robots.
Rationale: One of the aims of the Department of Education is to capacitate the
teachers and learners on robotics education to enhance their understanding
of robotics in improving teaching learning process as stated in the Division
Memorandum n. 10, s. 2017. This memorandum gives emphasis to all the
schools offering STE in JHS and STEM in SHS. To hone their skills in the
integration of robotics to daily life activities, the Training-Workshop in
action research is also specifically designed to hone.
Thus, the conduct of 3-Day School-based Training- Workshop on
Robotics is one of the effective strategies in sharing concepts and ideas to
the teachers and students in Bula National High School. It is generally
perceived to be a useful technique in providing updates in robotics
education.
Objectives: Specifically, this activity will be intended to:
1. provide meaningful and productive activities related to the fields of
research and STEM
2. enable the teachers and students to enhance their research skill on
robotics
3. develop teachers’ and students’ ability to program and customize robots.
Success Indicators: This activity will serves as the motivation that awakens the minds of
participants to continuously study because the essence of teaching and
learning robotics education is not merely on its programming and robotics
aspects but on how the teachers and students enjoy and use robotics in daily
life activities.
