• BACKROUND OF THE STUDY : SYNOPSIS
This is the part that is supposed to give the
reader a clear idea of what your thesis is
all about. You need to discuss the
following :
1.Present the problem and the concern
CHAPTER 1: 2.Information about current scenario
INTRODUCTION 3.Need of the study/ Aim
4.Any Historical evidence to support your
study
5. Identification of the site for study or
proposed site for the study.
• BACKROUND OF THE STUDY : SYNOPSIS
to justify the topic with FEEDBACK/ANSWERS to
the questions asked below. further, articulate it in the form
of synopsis . It shall be clearly your view point on the said topic.

• Q.1.What is your personal motivation to engage in exactly


this topic?
• Q.2.What is the need for this topic in present scenario?
• Q.3.What is the purpose of your contribution?
CHAPTER 1: • Q.4.Which economic/social/sustainable studies gives
evidence to your project?
INTRODUCTION • Q.5.Which gaps in knowledge do you try to close? OR
• Q.6.How are you bridging up the gaps in environment with
the help of your studies?
• Q.7.How are you benefiting the society through your aim?
• Q.8. What is the general scope of your studies?
• Q.9. Who are the primary stakeholders of your study?
• Q.10.What is the built to un-built ratio you are targeting?
• Note: supportive references can be given.
• AIM : An aim is a ultimate goal of the
study. It acts as basic directions while
conducting a research or carrying out a
project.
1. This section will probably not be very
long but it should be very powerful!
CHAPTER 1: 2.Outcome of the research should reflect
clearly.
INTRODUCTION
3.It is concerned with Purpose. Hence
long term outcome.
3.Explanation should be crisp and should
not be mentioned in the pointers
etc..(max 30 to 40 words.)
• OBJECTIVE : It is something a
person/entity seeks to achieve, by
continuously chasing it.
1 Specific goal of an individual or company.
2. Short term outcomes
3. How it is to be achieved? Various ways needs
CHAPTER 1: to described with pointers.
4. It is concerned with achievements.
INTRODUCTION 5.Explanation should be crisp and should not be
mentioned in the pointers etc..(max 30 to 40

6.It should be Specific ,Measurable, Achievable,
Realistic or Relevant, Time bound,Challenging
• SCOPE: It has to do with the width and
breadth of your research.
• What the study intends to accomplish. (The
focus)

research. Scope acts as a disclaimer in a
research as most researchers think that scope is
the area with which the study will cover.

is collected by someone other than the user.

The Internet sources etc.
• Literature review, Case studies are part of a
Secondary data.
• Literature Review :Literature Review is
Understanding various short listed
research papers applicable or related
to your Thesis topic and critically
reviewing it wrt to your Thesis
CHAPTER 2: Mainly the following:
Research • Book readings
component • Articles
• Journal papers
• Case Studies
• Case studies : It can be a part of LR
where the case study analysis
(Comparative analysis ) Or findings are
elaborated as outcome .
CHAPTER 2: Types of case studies includes:
• Offline / Live case studies
Research • Online case studies
component • Book/Magazine Case studies
• Editorial article/Published paper based.
• Complete report on Chapter 1 & Chapter 2
Research components.
• Literature review with minimum 2-3 findings in
each category.
• Case studies- Relevant study of cases suiting the
problem’s aim, scope, significance of the study
Week 6 & 7: etc. Considering the site climatic conditions
Deliverables such as local /macro climate which the author
would be planning for designing.
• Flow charts are most welcome to show your
interpretation of handling out the problem in
sequential order.
P.S. Primary data related information had been
already shared hence not included in this PPT.
