INSTRUCTIONS

Candidates attending the counselling have to pay an initial deposit of Rs. 5,000/- (Rs. 1,000/- in the case of
ST/SC/SCA candidates belonging to Tamilnadu) only by demand draft drawn in favour of "The Secretary,
Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions, Anna University," payable at Chennai (obtained not earlier than
01.07.2018) which will be adjusted against tuition fee. The remaining tuition fee has to be paid in the college
concerned.
The college and branch of study will be allotted as per rank, communal and other reservations and/or the
availability of seats at the time of counselling. Selection of the college and branch of study is the sole
responsibility of the candidate. Choice once made is final and cannot be changed.
As per the G.O. (standing) No. 160 HE (J2) Dept. dt: 22.05.2008 the candidate who got admission in M.B.B.S.
/ B.D.S through counselling should surrender the seat to get allotment for admission to Engineering Courses
through TNEA.
If the mark in the relevant subjects of a candidate is changed due to re-totalling/revaluation, he/she can attend
the counselling as per the revised mark and rank, though the call letter may specify different date as per
original mark.
For the bonafied candidates, the original allotment order will be withheld till the original certificates are
verified. They are advised not to apply for Transfer Certificate until they receive a confirmed Allotment Order
in Engineering Counselling. There is a possibility that seats under some category/community may not be
available on or before the day of the candidate’s counselling. Candidates are advised to check the vacancies
in the website https://www.tnea.ac.in before appearing for counselling.
The branches and intake in colleges given in "Information about Colleges" booklet is subject to change.
Candidates are advised to check the Display Screen in the counselling centre or in the above website for
currently available colleges and branches (seats).
Due to unforeseen and unavoidable reasons if a candidate is unable to attend the counselling on the date and
time specified:

1. The candidate can authorise the parent / guardian to attend the counselling with an authorisation letter
given by the candidate affixing the candidate’s photo. The parent / guardian should produce a photo
identity like driving license / PAN card / Passport / Voter ID or Aadhar ID with a photocopy of the id
produced. The authorised person's decision will be binding on the candidate.

2. The candidate can attend on a subsequent date and time during the counselling period. But the
candidate can only opt for the seats available at the time of attending counselling and cannot claim
seat as per the original rank.
3. The candidate has to attend the counselling at his / her own cost.
