Graduate Program to Foster International Civil Engineers
(Master course/Doctoral course)

These application guidelines include all of the requirements for students applying for the Master’s
Civil Engineering Special English Graduate Program. Applicants must read both the application guidelines
for all of the Special English Graduate Programs and Courses found in the pages above as well as the
specific application guidelines found below before applying.

1.How to Apply and Application Period


(1) How to apply
1) Only those who has passed the primary selection at the Japanese embassy in their home
countries are able to apply for the course. The application will be processed through online
submissions. The online application URL will be published at a later date on the department of
Civil Engineering Homepage: http://www.civil.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/en/admission/
2) All applications must be submitted online.
3) All applicants are recommended to visit the department homepage for detailed information about
that department, faculty, courses offered, eligibility for entrance, and requirements for completing
the degree program. http://www.civil.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/en/admission/

3.Selection Process
Screening is made based on academic performance, research plan, abstract thesis, English
Language Proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) score, and letters of recommendation, etc.
Selections are taken place after receiving application documents.

4. Preliminary Result Announcement


Result will be announced by Office of International Students (OIS) at the beginning of September by
email.
