Dear Parents
Since you and your child have engaged with the seven specific lessons that we have thus far provided
during the lockdown period, this resource pack serves as revision for further teaching and learning of key
Maths concepts. The aim is to further embed the required Term 1 and 2 grade specific knowledge and
skills.
Stay positive, enthusiastic and be creative in what you say and do to get your child excited about Maths.
Engage your child to solve problems in the home. Make these experiences practical and fun.
Provide the opportunity for your child to talk about the learning and teaching experience. This will build
confidence and demonstrate understanding. Make your daily Maths support memorable. Acknowledge your
child always. Do not lose hope, small attempts are most valuable too.
Play Maths games at home as these enhance mental calculations, strategic planning, discipline and team
spirit.
As you work through the grade specific activities it is also hoped that you can see the relationships and
the relevance of the mathematics that promote critical awareness and problem solving.
Invest in the provision of good support and guidance to help your child embed the specific building blocks
and to enjoy Maths. Be a good example for your child.
