ST. DOMINIC HIGH SCHOOL Prayer, Study, Community and Service Since 1929 St. Dominic High School held a graduation ceremony outdoors on Wednesday, July 8, and an offsite prom on Friday, July 10. Following those events, we have been notified that 19 students and two outside guests of one of the events have tested positive for COVID-19. All who have tested positive began experiencing their first symptoms after the weekend event. Upon learning of the first positive case, we informed all families with students who attended either event, and have encouraged them to follow the guidance recommended by local health officials and the CDC, including monitoring their children for any symptoms of COVID-19. We took steps recommended by health officials in executing both of these events. Out of an abundance of caution, we are cancelling all student activities through August 9. We are doing so to allow families to take the necessary precautions to help ensure a successful start of the academic school year on August 10, with classes beginning on August 17. We will continue to monitor the situation, and will determine any further measures that need to be taken. At this time, we are focusing on communicating with our school community, as well as on working with local health officials and the Archdiocese of St. Louis to ensure all guidelines and protocols are followed. As we continue to plan for the school year, we are keeping the physical, spiritual, intellectual and emotional health of our students at the forefront. Details regarding the return to school at St. Dominic High Schoo! will be shared with all school families next week. 31 Si, Dominic Drive * O*Fallon, MO 63366-2395 ‘wre stdominichs.org (636) 240-8303 « fax (636) 240-9884 Ragional Catholc High Schoo saving St Chad, Lincoln and Warren counties
