A Lasallian is someone who does not discriminate between the rich and the poor - he or
she is a person who treats everyone with respect and dignity. In the first picture, St. La Salle
treated his co-teachers equally as if they were his family members. He shared what he had with
them. The second picture exhibits that a Lasallian is religious. Through joys or tribulations,
Lasallians never forget to turn back to God for guidance as well for strength. Lasallians have
faith in God wherein whatever happens in the journey called Life, God has planned everything
for a reason. Lastly, the third picture shows that Lasallians must practice good values and moral
conduct. Also, Lasallians when united by a single goal or interest are able to form certain
solutions to problems or methods that may help improve a particular situation. If they put their
minds to it as well as form a sense of community and teamwork, they will be successful in
reaching their aspirations. This is the same whenever Lasallians are assigned into an
environment which they are not familiar with. Like in NSTP CWATS, Lasallians are immersed
and experience the lives of less fortunate people and with that encounter; they become one with
the people. That experience lights a fire in Lasallians, urging them to provide help and become
a beacon of hope for others. The characteristics I mentioned of being a Lasallian comes directly
from St. La Salle's life. He lived a life where he welcomed men who were willing to educate the
young; may they be rich or poor. He also treated the Brothers as his' equals and when they
finally formed a community with a purpose in mind, they were able to accomplish their goal to
help other people.
