Economic Machine Concept

Cost-efficient production

Mechanical drafting system drive

reduces investment costs
For constant production with infrequent
changes in the yarn count, the mechanical
drafting system drive is a good solution. Beside
the energy and personnel costs, the invest-
ment costs are an important cost factor for the
production of ring spinning yarns. A machine
with mechanical drives is the ideal solution to
keep these costs low.

No ends-down with a power failure

In the event of a power failure, the Controls with power failure – reduction of production loss
rotation energy of the spindles is used Power failure < 2 seconds
to supply the machine controls with Electricity Power failure Ramp-up to full speed
electricity. To achieve this, the main
motor switches to generator mode.
With a power failure up to 2 seconds,
Spindle speed [rpm]

the machine automatically acceler-

ates to again reach the operating Power failure > 2 seconds
speed. With longer interruptions, the controlled machine stop
machine is decelerated in a controlled
manner, thereby avoiding additional
ends down.

Intermediate drive makes long machines possible

Numerous advantages speak for the use of long machines. Not only the total number of ring spinning or winding machines is
consequently reduced but also the costs for maintenance and air-conditioning. Long machines use an additional drive unit for
the middle bottom roller, positioned in the middle of the machine. The torsion forces on the bottom roller decrease and the uni-
form running of the bottom roller guarantees consistent quality along the whole length of the machine. After doffing, the drafting
unit performs a uniform start-up on all spinning positions; delays caused by torsion and thus start-up breakages are prevented.

Machine concept and quality components for

highest productivity
Alongside the power consumption, highest possible productivity is
crucial for favourable production costs. The spinning speed is especially
reliant on the spinning machine, alongside raw material and process
management in the preparation. Based on the unique Rieter spinning
geometry as well as on the consistent use of quality components and
precise manufacture, the G 32 ring spinning machine produces at
highest spindle speeds. This is also the basis for consistently high yarn
quality at maximal production.

Easy setting in Z or S direction of twist

With the semi-electronic drafting system drive, the number of twists in
the yarn and the direction of twist (Z or S) can be very easily changed
on the display panel without mechanical modifications. A machine with
semi-electronic drives is the ideal solution to keep costs low.

Quick and sectional machine installation

The sectional delivery and assembly of the machine brings distinct
advantages. By means of the prefabricated sections, the assembly time
is considerably reduced which positively affects the payback period
of the ring spinning plant. The exact pre-assembly in the Rieter works
also increases the precision and uniformity of the entire ring spinning
facility. Only in this way can a quality yarn be successfully produced at
highest speeds for many years.

Efficient Doffing
High productivity through fast and reliable doffing

Doffing without unterwinding

With the SERVOgrip, no yarn residues occur that need to be
removed from the wharve. As well as saving yarn, it helps to
keep the machine clean. Ends down caused by flying yarn
remnants are avoided. Rieter is the only manufacturer to offer
an exactly controlled clamping crown. The controlled opening
and closing of the clamping crown by the ring rail fixes the
yarn exactly and ensures a low number of ends down after
doffing. In addition, the risk that fibre fly enters the spinning
process and leads to yarn faults is prevented.

Working principle SERVOgrip – control by means of the ring rail

Improved yarn cutting for man-made fibres

With the patented reduction of the yarn twist during the back winding and the
optional SERVOgrip knife on the clamping crown, also high-strength yarns or
core yarn specialities can be cutted reliably.

Self-monitoring gripper
The system monitors itself by means of the special profile of the doffer
beam and the releasable gripper. In the event of failures, the doffing
process is stopped by the pressure monitor. This ensures that all full cops
are taken off and an empty tube is put onto each spindle.

12
Rieter . Ring Spinning Machine G 32

Reliable cops transport through SERVOdisc

The SERVOdisc system works with peg trays that are clipped into a con-
veyor belt. This achieves a high level of precision in positioning. During
doffing, the full cops and the empty tubes can thus be precisely taken
over and removed. High dependability and short doffing times guarantee
high machine efficiency over a long period.

The SERVOdisc system is an open system and is thus practically self-

cleaning under all circumstances. It is driven by two diagonally offset
70 watt motors and operates with 10% of the energy consumption of
pneumatic solutions.

Flexible automation
With the SERVOdisc system, the end spinning machine can be directly linked with a winder or with the ROBOload. According
to the customer's requirements, various automation solutions can thereby be realised. The interface for ROBOload and link are
identical. Thereby a ROBOload machine can also be docked onto a winder at a later stage.

Save Energy with Suction Tube ECOrized

The suction tube ECOrized reduces the energy consumption by 10%

Substantial energy saving

The suction tube ECOrized is a further outstanding development from Rieter. The lower air volume at the spinning position
leads to a reduction of the required suction power by up to 50% which results in clear cost savings. This gives an average
energy saving of approx 10% across the entire yarn count range.

Energy-saving Drive
Rieter 4-spindle tape drive uses minimal energy

The Rieter 4-spindle tape drive is energy saving The large speed range with optimal efficiency secures the neces-
and easy to handle. With the 90° enlacement on the sary flexibility, as a wide yarn count range can be operated with
spindle, a good drive of the spindle can be secured low power consumption. With major changes in the speed, the op-

Superior Yarn Quality due to Precise Drafting System

Ri-Q-Draft – various options for quality yarns

Ri-Q-Draft with Ri-Q-Bridge – the solid basis

The Ri-Q-Draft system guarantees for most applications an optimal
fibre guidance with very stable running behaviour. The Ri-Q-Bridge,
a key component in the spinning process, and the optimised position
and form of the cradle shorten the distance to the clamping point of the
delivery roller pair and thereby achieve best yarn quality. The optimal
positioning of all technology parts and good running of the bottom
aprons ensure ideal fibre guidance in the main drafting zone.

Pressure relief of the drafting system cylinder

ensure highest yarn evenness
The pneumatic pressure relief of the drafting system cylinder ensures that the top rollers do not develop pressure points
during longer downtimes, which prevents periodical faults in the yarn. With the G 32 ring spinning machine, maximum yarn
quality with best prerequisites for the textile end product is uncompromisingly produced.

Q-Package* – the quality package for cotton and man-made fibres

The quality package for cotton and man-made fibres with the step nose
bar bridge and the new cradle combined with the most technologically
advanced pins noticeably improve the yarn quality. Fibre guidance
between the cradle and the nipping point of the delivery roller pair has
been further improved. Consequently, the yarn evenness (CVm) has
been improved by one percent absolute. At the same time, yarn imper-
fections have been reduced by 10 – 30%.

* Option

Man-made fibre package* increases the efficiency of the spinning process

With the man-made fibre package, an improvement of the entire
spinning performance for man-made fibres and blends has been
achieved. The SERVOgrip knife reliably cuts the yarn at doffing
and prevents start-up breakages. Bottom rollers with a greater
diameter can be optionally used. This improves the running
performance, especially with long man-made fibres. Due to the
metal reinforcement of the front edges of the separators, their life
cycle is significantly increased.

Easy Machine Setting

Quickly in production

Easy entering of the spinning data

Important machine functions are centrally entered. The various
menus of the machine control simplify the entry process. The
operator is guided step by step through the menu. As important
lot data such as yarn count, twist and speed curve are centrally
set, the time required for a lot change is reduced.

Productivity is more than maximum spindle speed

Up to 2% higher productivity at the same maximal spindle speed Particularly in the cops build-up stage, there is hid-
100% den potential. Through the precise machine con-
struction and the use of high-quality components,
interesting production increases can be specifically

Reliable machine setting

If in large plants many machines are operating with the same yarn
count, it is important that the quality on all machines is the same.
Uniform setting of all machines offers the greatest security for
consistent quality within the plant.

By means of the USB interface, the data is quickly and easily trans-
ferred to other machines. If the optimal spinning curve for a yarn
on one machine is determined, then other machines can be easily
adjusted. This facilitates optimisation of the spinning mill.

Special Yarns for Innovations in the World of Fashion

Integrable systems* for the economical production of fashionable yarns

A variety of effects with VARIOspin

With the optional fancy yarn device VARIOspin, high-quality special yarns can be flexibly produced and fashion trends speedily
implemented. This is effected by a servo-gearbox which is superimposed on the proven Rieter gearbox. The sophisticated
differential gearbox prevents thin places and significantly improves the running performance in downstream processing. All
functions are synchronised and enable a cost-efficient production of fancy yarns with the accustomed Rieter quality.

min. ramp length: min. ramp length: min. ramp length:

1/3 fibre length 1/3 fibre length 1/3 fibre length

Effects differ in the variation of the effect mass (thickness) and effect length. With VARIOspin also
long thin places, which are finer then the basic yarn count, can be intentionally produced. This applies
especially to knitwear. Special effects such as overlapping effects (effect on effect) round off the
possibilities. A variety of effect designs can be easily programmed and reliably produced.

Core yarns – three products to choose from

The sophisticated equipment with traversing core guidance rollers and no contact with the rub-
ber rollers allow efficient and faultless production. Three different core yarns can be economically
produced. With soft core yarn with elastane and hard core yarn, often with polyester, a single filament
is used as the core. In the denim segment, a duo-core yarn is increasingly used. This consists of feed-
ing an elastane and a bi-component polyester simultaneously. Thus, super-stretch yarns with high
elasticity can be manufactured.

Further quality yarns

Further possibilities are twin yarns and compacted yarns (EliTe). With the flexible and cost-
effective production of diverse special yarns, it is possible to easily and quickly react to changing
market requirements.

High Reliability
Long service life due to high-grade components

Quality spindles and tubes for optimal running behaviour

All machines are delivered exclusively with proven Novibra quality spindles. These are not only convincing by their improved
running properties and fewer ends down, but also by a far lower energy consumption and noise level compared to other
products. The vibration-free running of the spindle is the basis for high spindle speeds. Only smooth running of the spindle
prevents tension peaks in the yarn which could lead to ends down. Novibra spindles in combination with Rieter quality tubes
guarantee the best spinning results.
The quality spinning tube, Ri-Q-Tube*, convinces by its spe-
cial synthetic composition and the associated dimensional
stability. It offers a highly accurate concentricity and so
allows highest spindle speeds. The minimal load exerted on
the spindle bearings ensures a long service life, even at high
speeds.

Quality rings for a long service life

The high-quality TITAN spinning rings from Bräcker are included in the standard package for the G 32 ring spinning machine.
By the deliberate use of high-quality key components, an optimal spinning process with a resulting perfect yarn is attained.

RI-Q-Cot* for highest yarn quality

The top roller cots developed by Rieter guarantee
faultless yarn production with high quality. Accord-
ing to requirements, various Ri-Q-Cot top rollers are
available. The specification of these cots is based on
many years of experience and intensive application
in practical spinning.

Production and Quality Monitoring

High efficiency through specific deployment of human resources

Effective ends down detection

The individual spindle monitoring ISM* with the 3-stage
display concept guides the machine operator directly to
the spindles with ends down by means of signal lamps.
Unnecessary monitoring checks are eliminated. The spinner
can work more efficiently and thus operate more spindles.
This is achieved by different levels of the display. The first
stage are signal lamps on the machine head end and machine
foot end. They light up as soon as the defined limit for ends
Without individual spindle monitoring – long distances for the operator
down is exceeded. Through LEDs in each section, the operator
can recognise in which section along the machine ends down
must be pieced. Every spindle additionally has an LED, so that
the operator can directly identify the affected spindle.

Optimised path with individual spindle monitoring saves time and improves
the efficiency

speed monitoring
The permanent speed monitoring of the individual spindles
with the individual spindle monitoring ISM ensures the
yarn quality. If a spindle runs outside the defined specifica-
tions, this is indicated by the LED blinking.

The LED display at the section and on the individual spindles leads the operator
directly to the affected spindle
