At the end of the lesson, 80% of the learners can:

A. Identify the elements of communication process;


B. Know the role of each elements in the communication process;
C. Appreciate the importance of communication in our daily lives.

Motivation:
Identify the pictures provided that helps to decode the topic.
What is Communication?
It is a process of sharing and conveying messages or information from one person to
another within and across channels, context, media and culture.

 Lesson Proper:

A) Identify the Importance of Communication.

Develop and manage relationships and work effectively with others.

B) What are the elements of Communication?

Communication is divided into elements which help us better understand its mechanics or
process. These elements are the following:

1. Speaker 2. Message 3. Encoding 4. Channel


5. Decoding 6. Receiver 7. Feedback 8. Barrier

Introduce the basic communication model of Harold Lasswell.

C) Application
(The teacher will divide the class into two groups)
(The groups will perform a two different scenarios, after the performance each should
explain and identify their role following the elements of communication.
Short Skit
Direction:
1) Choose a scenario below then create a skit showing the elements of communication
process:
a) Birthday Party b) Job Interview
2) After presentation, discuss (1) who is the sender and receiver; (2) what is the message?;
(3)what medium did the sender use?; what is their receiver’s feedback; and what are the
noise or barriers encountered?

Why communication is important?
IV. EVALUATION
Draw your own communication model following the elements of communication.
Explain how you come up with the model?

V. ASSIGNMENT
What are the features of an effective communication and what are the common barriers to
communication? Provide example and cite your references.
