Interviewer First question Ma’am. From your own understanding, what is LAC? And
what is LAC session?
Interviewe Learning Action Cells or LACs ito yung program na na-designed para ma-
e enhance, ma-polish, ang pedagogy and content knowledge ng mga teachers.
Kumbaga ito yung mga sets of activities na nagbibigay ng improvement sa
teaching instruction ng mga tulad kong guro. At ang LACs ay nakikita
through LAC Sessions. Ang LAC Sessions ay nagbibigay ng maraming
opportunities kung saan tayong mga guro ay nagko-collaborate at
nagpapalitan ng mga ideas, pratices or should I say best practices natin sa
pagtuturo na nakakapagbigay sa iba ng inspiration sa pagtutro. At siyempre
ang LAC Sessions ang nagbbigay ng daan para ang mga teachers ay maging
metor ng ibang teachers dahil aminin man natin o hindi natututo tayo sa
ibang teachers kapag may ganitong meetings in that way, masasabi natin na
mas magi-improve ang edication. Sa DepEd, teachers conduct LAC sessions
monthly on a half-day basis. Winner ba ng sagot sir?
Interviewer Noted po Ma’am. Well said po. Pero pano po naiba ang LAC session sa
usual na administrative or faculty meetings ninyo?
Interviewe Ang LAC sessions ay hindi administrative or faculty meetings. Ang faculty
e meeting na tinatawag is simply either information dissemination or
concensus or decision-making or problem-solving that concerns the school
while yung LAC session is a designed program of activities solely for
teacher development. Ang Faculty meeting na tinatawag ay ganito, for
example, si Principal iga-gather kaming lahat taos sasabihin niya kung ano
mga dapat maning gawin sa graduation at recognition ceremonies at mga
importanteng annpuncements, ito ang tinatawag na faculty. Sa LAC session
naman, ang mga teachers ay nagmi-meeting gait ang afternoon session kung
kailan nakadesignate yung date para sa LAC session nila para pag usapan
ang about test construction. Ang mga Key teachers na na-assigned para
isamga bagay-bagay about sa topic na ito ang siyang magdi-discuss sa topifc
then followed by workshop. Afterwards, bawat learning area ay magpi-
present ng kani-kanilang outputs followed by question and answer portion
siyempre or yung tinatawag na sharing, ito ang tinatawag na LAC session.

Interviewer How do you select the topics in your school for your LAC sessions?
Interviewe In as much as we would like to select topics for our school-based LAC
e sessions, Nagbibigay ang LUSDO ng outlined monthly areas of concern
para sa kung ano ang magiging topic namin every LAC session. So, ang
gagawin na lang namin is mag-design ng LAC nan aka aligned sa topic na
ibinigay.
Interviewer Okay po Ma’am. What are your practices in conducting needs assessments?
Interviewe Teachers were asked na ilista lahat ng areas of concerns nila na kung ito ang
e nagiging basis ng LAC session namin sa school para mas lalong ma improve
ang teaching capabilities ng mga teachers at para ma-scaffold ang alam
naming mga teachers sa kung ano dapat gawin. Since ang LUSDO ay nag-
issue the monthly topics for LAC sessions, kailangan nating mag-comply.
We just have find other avenues para i-share yung mga new learnings natin
about sa topic.
Interviewer Yay, Okay po Ma’am. How do you conduct planning activities that lead to
the identification of your professional development needs prior to the
conduct of your LAC sessions?
Interviewe Teachers are required to complete a Self-Assessment Test or SAT. In this
e form, ang mga teachers ang magri-rate ng kanilang sarili. Kung gaano sila
ka-knowledgeable sa kanilang itinuturong subject matter? Gumagamit ba sila
ng HOTS sa paged-deliver sa kanilang mga lessons? Ano ang mga teaching
strategies na kanilang ginamit? Do they utilize positive discipline? Paano sila
nakikipag-communicate sa mga stakeholders at sa community? Ini-engage
ba nila ang kanilang sarili sa professional development programs? Yan ang
mga alam kung plan na ginagawa ng school para ma-assessa ng mga
kailangan namin sa school as teachers sir.
Interviewer Well said po Ma’am. How are you using various data-based documents to
guide your selection of teacher development needs?
Interviewe What do mean sir?

Interviewer For example Ma’am, self-assessment tools, classroom observation results,
critical reflections, surveys, research-based teacher development needs, and
students’ assessment results. Paano niyo ginagamit ang mga ito para sa
selection ng inyong development needs?
Interviewer Usually, after class observation, yung Head namin ang nagka-conduct ng
post conference with the teacher nan a-observed niya. Ito yung time na
sinasabi lahat ng observer sa teachers yung mga naobserve niya at yung mga
hindi niya na-observe based sa incators. Sa pamamagitan nito yung ang
teacher na observed ay magkakaroon ng idea or magsi-self-reflect siya kung
paano niya uli ituturo yung lesson na iyon or kung paano niya i-maintain
yung good teaching instruction all throughout the lesson. Ito mga details na
to ay nakalista lahat at gagamitin para sa susunod na basis for topic selection
para sa sususnod na LAC session namin. At higit sa lahat, ikino-consider ang
pagselect ng topic sa susunod na LAC session base sa kung ilan ang teachers
na nagangailangan ng tulong per subject area. Kaya kaming mga teachers ay
nagkakaroon ng tinatawag na collegial discussions na kung saan pinag-
uusapan anmin kung ano ang mga kailangan gawin na strategy sa ganitong
klase ng lesson instead nap ag usapan namin ang buhay ng ibang tao diba sir.

Interviewe How do you form your LACs in school?

Interviewer After sending request letters to LUSDO for approval ng pag-conduct ng
LAC session, isang program ang naka-prepare. Ang program na ito ay
nagdedetalye ng sequence or arrangement ng parts o tasks na kailangang
mangayri o matapos. Since ang LAC sessions usually nangyayri every
afternoon monthly, certain preliminaries are observed tulad ng pagkanta ng
Ang Bayan Ko, followed by a prayer, opening remarks, and roll call, at iba
pa sir.
Interviewer Noted po mam. What about the seating arrangement of your LACs during LAC
session Ma’am? Paano?
Interviewe Ang mga teachers ay na-grupo accorfing to area of specialization, subject
e matter taught, by departments, or by grade level depende sa topic namin sa
LAC session sir.
Interviewer Okay po Ma’am. How often do you conduct LAC sessions?
Interviewe We conduct LAC sessions monthly.

Interviewer How long do you meet?
Interviewe We spend the whole afternoon doing LAC sessions.

Interviewer How do you meet or communicate?
Interviewe We observe face-to-face or actual sessions. This allows us to exchange ideas
e and opinions and give feedbacks on real-time. Usually, after the discussion,
workshop follows for the application or reinforcement or enhancement of the
learned or relearnt knowledge.

Interviewer How do you select the resource persons for your LAC sessions?
Interviewe Kapag namimili kami ng mga resource speakers namin para sa LAC session
e sila yung mga tinatawag na experts sa field, tulad last month ang topic namin
is about Action Research ang kinuha naming resource speaker is si Sir.
Bryan Hidalgo dahil alam namin na expertise niya ang research or kung
session is about reproductive health, municipal doctors are invited so at the
same localization and contextualization are also practiced ganun.
Interviewer How do you obtain material resources for the LAC sessions for supplies,
worksheets, videos, equipment, budget, food, and venues?
Interviewe Since we teachers are the organizers of LAC sessions, we use the school's
e resources. Yung speaker ay kinakailangang pumunta at ideliver ang kanyang
part sa session. Anyway, before the conduct of the activity, ang nai-designate
na organizers ay dapat naka-usap na beforehand yung magiging speaker para
hindi magkaroon ng aberya at magkaroon ng certain arrangements tulad ng
date kung kailan siya available kung kailangang ilipat ng date para ma-
accommodate yung speaker idi yun ang kailangang gawin.
Interviewer How well do teachers aware of their roles during LAC sessions?
Interviewe Before magkaroon ng LAC session may meeting pa na nagyayari prior to the
e said date of the said event. Hindi naman kailangang formal yung meeting
nay un basta brainstorming lang kung ano ang mga dapat gawin sa LAC
session ganun para magkaroon ng smooth flow ng pagpa-facilitae ng LAC
session. Each of us are given tasks to accomplish at gawin sa abot ng aming
makakaya. We are expected to perform better.
Interviewer Can you describe the coordination among your LAC members, leaders,
facilitators, and resource persons throughout the LAC process?
Interviewe Ang school head namin usually ang nagli-lead ng LAC session at nagdi-
e disseminate kung ano mga mga gagawin namin kung may mga kailangan ba
kaming i-ready or i-perform before, during and after ng LAC session. We
stay at our positions so if ever a certain problem arises, alam namin kung
sino ang tatanungin at kung kanino hihingi ng tulong. Most of the time, sa
organizers na naka-in-charged kami humihingi ng tulong ot advice. We just
need to maintain open communication, resourcefulness, and alertness para
masigurado na ma-achieve ang goals ng LAC session.
Interviewer What are your established group norms for LAC sessions?
Interviewe We strongly adhere to the principles of open communication, collaboration,
e sharing, and respect. Itong mga standards ay kinakailangan upang
marealized ang objectives of the LAC session. Kung hindi mare-realize ang
objective ng LAC session wala na ah it is a complete failure for us kasi para
saan pa kina-conduct yung LAC session kung hindi din lang pala nasusunod
yung goals niya idi wala din lang pupuntahan.
Interviewer How conducive is the learning environment for your LACs?
Interviewe For the plenary session, we have a covered court in our school that can
e accommodate the entire public secondary schools in our district. For the
breakout sessions, we have well ventilated and comfortable classrooms.
Comfort rooms are functional in each floor. If participants need to use
computers, we have our ICT room.
Interviewer How teachers in your school feel safe whenever they engage to LAC
activities?
Interviewe Since our school is located near the mountains, it gives a fresher ambience
e compared to schools in the metro.
Interviewer How do teachers in your school respect one another during LAC activities?
Interviewe Teachers freely participate without disrespecting others. We also observe
e punctuality. In giving comments or feedbacks, we see to it that teachers are
not humiliated. We do it in a constructive way. We also give our smiles to
everyone. It does not only relieve stress; it makes us younger too.

Interviewer What sources are you usually using during the operationalization of your
LACs?
Interviewe During the plenary session, we use the LCD projector. We also use our own
e sound system. During breakout sessions, we use wide-screened smart TVs.
The funds come from our MOOE and from the proceeds of our school's
canteen, sir.
Interviewer How do you prepare LAC plans?
Interviewe In our school, the teacher who initiates the LAC session prepares the LAC
e plan as per approval of our school head.
Interviewer Who writes the LAC Plan?
Interviewe The teacher who initiates for the LAC plan belongs to the department in-
e charge in the facilitation of the session sir. Siya na rin ang bahalang magpa-
approve sa principal.
Interviewer How are these plans being integrated or linked in your School Improvement
Plan (SIP) or the Annual Implementation Plan (AIP)?
Interviewe These sessions are stipulated in the SIP/AIP. As stated earlier, these plans
e are in accordance with the LUSDO's directive. Usually in a meeting, each
learning area is tasked to handle the month's LAC session. This way, we are
also given equal opportunities to lead and to serve sir.
Interviewer Usually, what are the forms of your LAC activities?
Interviewe We engage in discussions, lecture-types if the topic is technical, e.g. lawyers
e or doctors talk about legal issues, medical doctors talk about health, and
others, writeshops, workshops, collaborations such as simple sharing and
exchange of ideas, presentations, and demonstration teachings. Most of the
time, we go by the discussion-workshop type sir.
Interviewer In what ways do teachers in your school collaborate during LAC sessions?
Interviewe We share our best practices in various fields; we present the innovations that
e we enjoy; we model lesson logs or lesson plans. We conduct demonstration
teaching; we group with teachers of other learning areas; we play
educational games as energizers or icebreakers; and we exercise professional
Q&A portions.
Interviewer Is there an individual or group action plan for the implementation of agreed
activities as an outcome of your LAC session that would be implemented or
applied in the classroom?
Interviewe Sometimes we have individual plans and sometimes we have group plans but
e it is not formal because it is not written in reports it is only a face to face
agreement trough conversation sir.
Interviewer - How do the teachers in your school report the implementation of agreed
activities in the classroom?
Interviewe We submit minutes of the meeting or a narrative report or a post evaluation
e depending on the circumstances. Sometimes, we are also asked to present
these in a faculty meeting. Every after LAC session, participants are asked to
complete a survey form. They may also write their comment and
suggestions.
Interviewer - How do the LAC facilitators and LAC leaders in your school monitor and
evaluate the implementation of agreed activities in the classroom?
Interviewe We also conduct a meeting to discuss what problems arise or to commend on
e the success of the activity. We work as one to achieve an effective plan.
