The workshop was very interactive, which profited all the participants enormously!

We had the
opportunity to present ourselves through different activities and discuss how to make them
better.

The workshop greatly expanded my understanding of mindfulness and gave me great

understanding of how it can be used & taught to develop students’ self-awareness/self-
management skills.

The workshop represents a very creative approach to teaching students how to access their
thoughts, emotions and behaviors. The examples of group activities are very different from those
in traditionally we use. The book ‘Communicative with Cambridge’ thoroughly describes how to
engage students in different ways. ‘Life Skill Activity’ segment is one of the best approaches to
develop learner’s self awareness and decision making. I find it very interesting while discussing
with learners. Our facilitator appreciated me for putting examples that how I use life skill activity
in my classroom. This appreciation really motivated me enormously and it also made me realize
again that how appreciation can motivate students.

This was a totally engaging workshop. Learning was happening for me on many different levels.
Mrs. Priyanka created an environment where we were able to learn from one another. As well as
the exercises and activities she devised and skillfully guided us through, I learned methodically.

A well known strategy is ‘Bloom’s Taxonomy’ which was again explained. I was quite
astonished to see that many of us couldn’t answer regarding this strategy. It made me realize that
all of us should go through different strategies regularly.

This workshop was well facilitated with useful and relevant hand-outs. Ms. Priyanka also talked
about how a negative word can de-motivate student. She also explained how to use Sandwich
method or two stars one wish method to give feedback.

Another most important topic was how to help struggling learners by taking different initiative
such as Compensatory Teaching and Remedial teaching and many more. It is also clearly stated
that no single technique or set of techniques is sufficient to teach a slow learner.
Many ideas that were said during the workshop were very logical and straightforward but until
then many of us may be didn’t considered them so important.

Many of the things discussed were fairly elementary, and most of them I knew already
beforehand. However, there is a significant difference between “knowing” something in the back
of your mind and actively recognizing and implementing them in the classroom. Though I
implement many strategies in my class but it was refreshing.

Classroom management is one of the major strategies which we all need to understand properly
so that we can execute our class more effectively. How differentiated- learning approach
technique help teacher to manage a classroom more efficiently was also well explained.

In conclusion, I would like to thank the authority for arranging such an active workshop. The
facilitator was informative and inspirational with a relaxed and powerful style. I honestly think
that I can take the ideas from this workshop and can improve my teaching technique. Overall
content of workshop was most insightful and helpful. I came out from workshop with an
incredible feeling of peace and relaxation.
