How to log in using a Laptop or PC
Hello Linguist!
A Webcam and Microphone is required when using a PC/Laptop with the DA Languages
Video Interpreting Application. Please follow the guide on how to test your webcam and
microphone to ensure these are working before continuing with this guide.

A laptop or PC is the recommended device to use during a Video Interpreting session.

Let’s see how you can log in!


1. Logging In
Open a Google Chrome web browser

2. Webcam and Microphone Tests
Once logged on, you will see a
pop-up requesting a test of your
audio and video connection. Click
on Start to begin this process.

During the sound test, you will be prompted
to repeat words/numbers. Please make sure
your sounds volume is adequate to hear
these instructions. If done correctly, you will
be presented with a message to say your
audio has passed. Otherwise an option will
be presented allowing you to try again. Click
on Next to continue to the video test.

During the video test you will
be presented with a picture of
yourself. Please ensure that you
can visually see yourself clearly
and click on Yes and then Next
to continue.

If successful, you will be presented with a message
indicating that your tests have completed, and you
are ready to take a video call.

3. Pre-Call Checks
In the bottom left hand corner of the screen,
you will see your status as online, meaning you
are available to take a call.

Please ensure that for the Video Option, you


have Video and Audio selected.

The View Self option which is in the bottom
right hand corner of the application will enable
you to view yourself and re-adjust if necessary.

4. The ON/OFF Status
The ON/OFF option which is located on the
bottom right hand corner of the application
will enable you to set yourself in different
status, e.g. if you are on lunch, please set
yourself as on ‘Lunch Break’ and the
‘Estimate Off Time’.

Your status will change to Offline and you will
not receive any calls during this period.

5. Accepting a Call
An incoming call from a client
will be alerted by a popup on
your screen and ring tone.
When you are ready to take
the call, click on Accept.

hide your camera
and end the call

Once the call has connected,


you will see a video footage of
the client and yourself.

In the event the call drops, the
client will have 1 minute to
reconnect to you. Please do
not disconnect or close the
web browser until this period
as passed.

will be returned to the home
screen.

To log off the DA Languages Video
Remote Interpreting application, please
select Log Off in the top right-hand
corner of the application.
