Instructions for CMF/IT1/IT2 Online Examination

This is to inform you that CMF Summer 2016 Exam Software update will be available on
March 30, 2016 by 2 pm. on main MSBTE site under the name CMF/IT1/IT2 Online
Examination System Software Update for Summer 2016.

Please download this update and upgrade the OES software at their exam center. Please read
'Readme' file before executing this update.

In case of any doubts or problems at exam center, please send mail to oessupport@msbte.com.
Other contact details are given in the software and will be available under "Support Executive"
option to Exam Center when they download the data.

Following are the few guidelines for the exam centers (Some new instructions are mark in red):

1. Exam centers should check whether they have OES Server (One machine) as well as OES
Client (Multiple machines) software installed in their lab or not.
2. In case it is not installed the same should be installed using DVD distribute by MSBTE.
This is applicable to new as well as existing exam centers also.
3. These DVD's are available at every RBTE office.
4. After doing installation of the Server and Client software, Exam Center has to register and
activate the OES software.
5. Exam center should do activation only once.
6. In case of multiple activation exam center needs to send undertaking signed by the principal
of the institute saying that they do not have multiple CMF Online Exam servers activated
in the exam center (the sample undertaking is already there with each RBTE).
7. This undertaking is to be sent to cmf support id as well as to MSBTE officer at mail id
asabak@msbte.com
8. Once it is approved by MSBTE officer approval in the form of mail reply to support id
(oessupport@msbte.com) for re-activating the server, only then exam center will be
allowed to activate the software and then continue conducting of the exam.
9. All the Client machines Exam Center must install MS Office 2010.
10. All the centers should try conducting Mock test on all the machine on which they are
planning to conduct the examination.
11. Center Password, Internal/External Examiners passwords and first day passwords will be
sent to exam centers by MSBTE, Mumbai through principal mail id given to each institute
by MSBTE.
12. Exam center should install this update on OES Server as well as OES client machine after
reading the instructions from 'Readme.Doc' file provided with the update.
13. After running the OES software update, exam center should run 'Update Data' option for
all the available events like (CMF Summer 2016, IT1 Summer 2016 etc.) so that they get
all the required data to conduct the examination at their exam center.
14. From summer 2016 onwards, in order to conduct CMF Online Examination, Exam Server
computer needs to have Continuous Internet Connectivity. Earlier Internet was required
only for data download and result upload.
 15. In case Exam Center has students for CMF, then it is compulsory for Internal Examiner to
enter the Skill Test marks of all the students using OES software.
16. From summer 2016, while entering skill test marks, Internal Examiners needs to enter code
401 for 'Absent' candidate and code 402 for 'Detained' candidate in the place of Skill
Test marks.
17. From summer 2016 onwards, system will upload the result to MSBTE server of appeared
candidates, on its own at the end of every slot (on End Examination).
18. Alternatively, Exam Center can also upload the result to MSBTE server using the options
available under OES system.
19. Summer 2016 onwards Exam will be conducted strictly between the scheduled date and
time.
20. So in case of summer 2016 the scheduled period is March 31, 2016 to April 10, 2016. No
exam Center will be allowed to conduct the exam after closing hours of April 10, 2016.
In that case at any exam center if there are candidates whose exam is not conducted
during scheduled period, system will mark such candidates as 'Absent' and then
responsibility lies on the Exam Center.
21. After conducting exam of all the candidates of a event, exam center must surrender that
event. OES Exam Software should not be uninstalled from the system.
22. From summer 2016 onward, at the time of surrender, system will generate new reports viz.
'Absent/Scheduled Candidate Report'. Exam Center must download this report and
check and ensure that listed candidates are actually absent/rescheduled. Final result
of these candidates will be declared as “Absent” and no complain about these students
will be entertained at any stage. CMF Exam Coordinator is here by instructed to keep
the hard copy of these reports duly verified and signed by coordinator and External
examiner for future reference.
