Islam is a religion which does not only
let us know what we must do and what
we must not. It is the religion that
guides us what we need to know.

TAWHID

unity of the God
❑ Principle Statement: La ilaha illa Lah
❑ Objective: Reality of cosmic unity
LOGICAL THINKING
➢ Function: explain rationality and
overall consistency in the face of
outward appearances of incoherence
and contradiction.
➢ Structural support: Quran and
Prophetic Hadiths
➢ Demerit: extensive use of logic did
not lead to secular rationalism which
rebels God and religion

▪ Averroes (1126–98) was the last major
logician from al-Andalus, who wrote
the most elaborate commentaries on
Aristotelian logic.

CONCLUSION

In Islam, all forms of scientific knowledge is

connected to tawhid, Islam doesn’t consider
materialistic sciences superior to any other
forms of wisdom. Similarly, objectivity which
is very important for science is also a
fundamental concept in Tawhid. In short,
scientific wisdom is inseparable from Tawhid
and religious consciousness.
