Job Title: Purpose of the position:

Parts Controller To oversee materials requirements for the Mobile
Maintenance group.

Reporting relationship:

- Reporting to: Senior Maintenance Planner - Location: AGMI (Aurora Gold Mine Inc.)

Job context
The Parts Controller is responsible for identifying the needed spare parts and other materials, that are
required to maintain the Mobile and Auxiliary equipment at a high level of availability. He/she is the liaison
between Operations, Maintenance and Materials & Logistics. Responsible for anticipating and eliminating
potential delays through planning and coordination, of parts and materials for execution of all critical major
outages (planned and unplanned), alterations and construction work across the site, and off site. Also
support departmental maintenance activities.

Main Accountabilities
Responsibilities Activities / frequency

 Ensure that all materials are safely and properly
stored.
 Identify parts and critical items and flag
accordingly.
 Review P&ID’s and OEM manuals to ensure that
needed spares have been correctly identified, to
support each installation.
 Initiate new inventory requests for needed
spares.
 Preparing, planning, coordinating and delivering
materials required for works of major
maintenance, with the goal of ensuring that
maintenance activities have minimal impact on
equipment downtime.
 Review existing spares to ensure that they are
properly categorized. E.g.; critical, insurance,
repairable / cores and others….
 Work closely with supervisors to identify high
wear equipment.
 Management of parts staging to ensure that job
packages are complete and ready to execute
(collaboration with planners to update work order
status).
 Physical confirmation of all parts and materials
shown in the ERP system.
 Regular materials report, indicating planned and
actual status (daily updates and weekly reports)
 Review and approve maintenance materials
forecasts for coherence and reliability (weekly)
 Reporting any OSND (overages, shortages, and
non-conforming & damaged) parts or materials
to the Materials and Logistics team.
 Conduct regular audits and site surveys to
monitor adequacy of controls (monthly)
 Conduct post work closure reviews and analysis
to capture process and procedure improvements
(after each major equipment shutdown)
 Return unused inventory items to stores (Credit
to Stock).
 Prepare budget control parameters to monitor
and control expenditures (quarterly)
 Communicate with vendors on a regular basis.
 Ensure a close liaison with purchasing team on
all requests.

Impact of the Position (Critical factors)

The Parts Controller’s responsibilities act as supporting elements, to the existing materials management
processes and procedures, which are currently used across the Aurora mine site. This position will ensure
that materials and spares are properly identified and justified within our inventory catalog. The impact of this
will be improved production and reduced costs, both critical elements for AGMI’s success.

Requirements (Skills, Experience and Qualifications)

Skills: technical, management, organization
 Mechanical Fitter Trade Certification or other technical accreditation from a recognized training
institution.
 Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
 A strong business acumen to develop and maintain a cost-conscious environment.
 Experienced in the use of an ERP.
 Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word).

Experience: level, field, duration

 Minimum of four years’ field experience in heavy industry or manufacturing plants.
 Experienced in the use of forklifts, tele-handlers, pick-up and delivery trucks etc...

Qualifications: education, complementary training (s)

 Certified Tradesman (Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation /
 Possesses a current Guyana driver’s license.
