WHEREAS, Republic ActzL6o, otherwise known as the Local

Government
code of 1991, and reiterated under section 10 (e) of Republic g526,
Aa arso known
as the Charter ofthe City ofValenzuela, affirms:

SECTION 458. POWERS, DIITIES, FUNCTIONS AND COMPENSATION.

(a) The Sangguniang panlungsod, as the legislativebody

ofthecity,
shall enact ordinances, approve resolutions and appro
riate funds
for the generar welfare of the city and its inhabih;B pursuant
to
Section 16 of this Code and in the proper exercise
of the corporate
powers ofthe city as provided for under Section
22 0fthis code, and
shall:

(1J Approve ordinances and pass resolutions necessary

for an
efficient and effective city governmen! and in this
connection,
shall:

[viiJ subjea to the provisions of this code and pertinent laws,

determine the powers and duties of officials and
employees of
the city;

(viiiJ Determine the positions and the salaries, wa ges,

allowances
and other emoluments and benefits of officials

WHEREAS, the creation of

said positions under the Sangguniang Panlungsod
shall herald the feasible application of intangible legal theories and abstract
knowledge to disentangle specific individualized problems, or to advance the
interests and welfare of the city as well as its constituents;

WHEREAS, the positions
Panlungsod are crucial and indispensable in order to fulfill the mandate of the
legislative arm of the city;

WHEREAS, the infusion of responsive and responsible positions to the ever

growing demands of the legislative works will compliment the thrust and vision of
the City in affording efficient service to the community in general and its constituents
in particular.

NOW THEREFORE, be it ORDAINED as it is hereby ORDAINED, the creation

of the following positions in the Sangguniang Panlungsod, to wit:

1. Two (2) ATTORNEY ll SG 1B

4. One [1J ATTORNEY lll SGA

This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
