Overview of Changes from This course has been updated to reflect the most current software
Last Major Update revision and all feedback. Please note the following major changes:
• Throughout the course, lessons and labs were updated to provide
more clarity and consistency between the labs and the
presentation material. This includes rewording the objectives and
the steps in the exercises that are associated with them.
• Labs were tested thoroughly to ensure proper functionality and
quality.
• Lesson 1: Additional lesson material was added that shows
advanced screens and features of FactoryTalk View SE.
• Lesson 2: Lesson material updated to provide more clarity.
• Lesson 4: Lab was corrected and now uses Rockwell Software
Data Client to test communications.
• Lesson 12: Additional lesson material was added to clarify
firmware versions of different controllers. The RSLogix 5000
application file was corrected to reflect proper alarming and
additional buttons were added in the FactoryTalk View SE
application in order to test alarms.
• Lesson 13: Lesson and exercise was added for ODBC logging.
Standard data log material was kept.
• Lesson 16: Additional lesson material was added on keying.
• Lesson 17: The lab exercise now has students create groups and
assign individuals to groups. Also permissions were changed so
students do not have to login in order for the client to open.
ActiveX was removed from this lesson.
