Question 2: Explain D-AMPS for 3 users with diagram.

– upstream channels in the 1850-1910 MHz range ,downstream channels in the 1850-1910
MHz range
– Compression the vocal system to get BW from the standard 56kbps PCM or less (done by vocoder).
– Done in telephone rather than the base station or end office to reduce the no of bits sent over the air
link.
– The gain is much in D-AMPs.

Question 3: Explain POST operation.

Ans：POST (Power On Self Test)

The BIOS determines whether the video card is operational.
The BIOS checks to see if this is a cold boot or a reboot, If it is a cold boot, the BIOS verifies
RAM by performing a read/write test of each memory address.

The BIOS looks at the sequence of storage devices identified as boot devices in the CMOS Setup.

The bootstrap loader loads the operating system into memory and allows it to begin operation.
