ASSISTANCE REQUIRED

 There is no Railway auto phone available in depot. It is very

difficult to contact with on duty supervisors.
 Only 04 supervisors out of 11 having Railway CUG mobile Sim
cards , so it is requested to provide proper communication
facility.
 Two computers with Rail net connection is required for proper up
keeping of records. Presently all records are maintained manually.
Spl Indent for the same is already sent to Division office in 2010.
 Sick line shed roof is broken at several places and it is difficult to
work in sick line during rainy season.
 There is no staff room and proper store are available in depot.
One work was sanctioned under MLB 2010-11, but till date no
work has been started.
 Staff quarters are required either at Shambhupura or COR.
 One staff canteen and cycle stand required at Shambhupura.
 Connecting pathway from sick line to yard is required for easy
movement of material.
 Lighting facility in sick line shed is poor, some times staff are
deputed to fit sick wagons in night looking to the urgency of stock.

SWING DOOR WITHOUT SIDE LOCKING ARRANGEMENT

Initially this type of door was fitted in BCNHL wagons.

Door mechanism : 02 swing doors consists of one Right hand and

another Left hand. Fitted with 06 hinges and one centre lock rod
top/bottom inside of door. There is no any side lock arrangement.

Problems noticed : Door locking is only depends on centre lock rod

which is not visible from outside.
 SWING DOOR WITH SIDE LOCKING ARRANGEMENT

Door mechanism : 02 swing doors consists of one Right hand and another Left
hand. Fitted with 06 hinges , one centre lock rod top/bottom inside of door,02
long door gravity cotters at the top of both sides,02 swing latches at bottom of
both sides.

Problems noticed : It is difficult to operate long door gravity cotters and side
latches without using gadgets, it requires proper alignment of doors. Failure of
centre lock rods are high due to weight of cement bags rests on the door which
restricts vertical movement and broken at unloading points . These type of doors
are mostly found open in empty condition.
 OLD SLIDING DOORS WITH ROLLERS AT TOP AND BOTTOM

Door mechanism : Fitted and supported with 03 rollers at top and 03

rollers at bottom, 01 long door gravity cotter and 01 bottom latch.

Problems noticed : Door frequently gets jam due to mis- alignment of

rollers, clogging of cement on guiding rails.
 NEW SLIDING DOOR WITH ROLLERS AT TOP

Door mechanism : Fitted with 03 rollers on top and no weight at

bottom, 01 short door gravity cotter and one side latch. One locking
latch is also provided to lock the door in open condition.

Problems noticed : Sliding door gets jam due to cement clogging .

Movement of door restricts due to bulging of wagon body. It is difficult
to open the door from non platform side. Doors are work away due to
mis handling at unloading points.
 SWING DOOR WITH MODIFIDE SIDE LOCKING ARRANGEMENT

This type of door is successful among all the existing doors because side short
door cotters are more effective . Since the centre lock rod is one piece and fitted
outside of the door which is visible and easy to operate.

Door mechanism : 02 swing doors consists of one Right hand and another Left
hand. Fitted with 06 hinges , one centre lock rod outside of door,04 short door
gravity cotters at the top/bottom of both sides,01 swing latch at centre and 02
tower bolts top/bottom inside of left hand side door.

Problems noticed : No. of locks are more.

 SWING DOOR WITH MODIFIDE SIDE LOCKING ARRANGEMENT

This type of door is successful among all the existing doors because side short
door cotters are more effective . Since the centre lock rod is one piece and fitted
outside of the door which is visible and easy to operate. Hinges are in one piece .

Door mechanism : 02 swing doors consists of one Right hand and another Left
hand. Fitted with 04 hinges , one centre lock rod outside of door,04 short door
gravity cotters at the top/bottom of both sides,01 swing latch at centre and 02
tower bolts top/bottom inside of left hand side door.

Problems noticed : Door hinges are failed due welding failure.
