Author A DVD MPEG Using TMPGEnc DVD Author
For the purposes of this guide we are going to be using a DVD MPEG-2 file created from
AVI, VCD or SVCD by TMPGEnc Plus as our source. If you don't know how to convert your
video to this format, we have a guide on TMPGEnc Plus available for download on our home
page (http://www.rita.lt).
Note: This guide can also be used with other DVD-compatible video files.
If you do not already own TMPGEnc DVD Author it is not freeware. You can download a free
trail version for 30 days from. http://www.pegasys-inc.com
Step 1
Open TMPGEnc DVD Author and then at the top of the window click Source setup.
Next click Add file and browse to the DVD-MPEG file you previously created using TMPGEnc
Plus.
The window on the right above will appear and you can add chapters to your movie so that
you can easily find the part you want to view later. Click Add.
Click Ok.
Step3
In this window you can choose a menu from a template or if you are feeling creative, you can
edit and create your own. You can also disable the menu altogether here if you do not want
this on your DVD.
There are too many variations to include in this guide, but I’m sure this is one area you will
not mind exploring in your own time and discovering the many advanced features.
Step 4
Once you have finished exploring the menu possibilities and have created your masterpiece!
Click Output.
Next to the Output folder box click Browse and select the destination folder for your newly
authored DVD. (I would suggest it should be an empty new folder)
IMPORTANT: make sure there is enough space on the drive to accommodate the capacity
shown at the bottom by the blue bar)
You can save the files for burning at a later date and burn them to disc with Nero or image
tool and DVD-Decrypter or if you want to use this program to continue on and burn to disc
read on.
Burning your Files to DVD
From the main screen select Write DVD folder to DVD R/RW.
First of all click Browse and select the folder TMPGEnc DVD Author has created and
includes your DVD files. IMPORTANT! (do not select the VIDEO_TS folder, but the Volume
1 folder that includes both VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS).
