Module 8 Reflection

What I enjoyed most was...

being able to learn about new technology to use in my
classroom. This course has taught me many different
options for enhancing educational experiences for my
students.

What I need  More Help With Is...

As a special education self-contained teacher, I am seeking
resources that are more accessible and friendly to use for my
students. Although I have gathered alot of resources to use from a
teaching standpoint, I would like to find more resources that help
my students practice skills and educational material for them to
have a better educational experience with the latest technology in
the classroom.

WHAT STILL PUZZLES ME AND SURPRISES ME?

The thing that still puzzles me is how to implement presentation
software and other technology tools into my special education
classroom. I want to better understand a way to use these tools to
benefit my students in a way to help them be successful in using
the latest technology.
I am most suprised of all the new technology that I was unaware of
and how many assistive technologies and resources are available to
assist my students and their families.

WHAT DID I LEARN? WHAT WAS DIFFICULT?

I learned how to use infographics, about many helpful resources for my students
and parents, as well as a lot of new technology that I can introduce in my
classroom. What was difficult was learning how to use this new technology that I
have never used before over the course of this semester, as well as trying to
understand ways to integrate it into my special education classroom in order to
benefit my students with this new information and resources available.

WHAT ASSIGNMENT WAS MY BEST WORK? WHY WAS IT

MY BEST WORK?
Module 1 (Assistive Technologies) and Module 2 (Using Technology in Teaching)

I believe that both of these were my best works because I learned the most and enjoyed
researching and learning about new technologies and resources that are offered to benefit
my students. Before this semester, I reflect back on the fact that I did not integrate
technologies enough and I was not aware of the informational and supportive resources
made available for students with disabilities and their familes. I feel that through these two
course modules I will be able to offer a better education experience to my students going
forward. Furthermore, I feel they were the most helpful to me, as a special education teacher
in order to better service my students as the new school year approaches.

SUGGESTIONS TO FUTURE STUDENTS TAKING THIS

COURSE:
I am a strong believer in "you only get out of something the amount of effort you put into it."
So, my suggestion is to take on the course as a challenge to sharpen your skills and better
yourself as an educator in order to offer your students a better educational experience upon
completion. I learned many technologies that I can integrate into my classroom and most
importantly, helpful resources that will benefit my students and their familes in the future.
With that being said, be a good, diligent student and be determined to get better.
