the Capacitor Voltage Transformer

This type of mounting scheme re- by Haefely Trench
duces space requirements in most
substations, while facilitating the
electrical connection between the
Line Trap and CVT. The mechanical
connection between the two units
also serves as the electrical connect-
ion.

In assessing the suitability of this

mounting scheme, Trench assumes
a 300lb. (136kg) horizontal terminal
load at the top of the CVT. Also,
specific wind load and electrody-
namic forces are calculated. A
minimum safety factor of 2 on por-
celain breaking strength is main-
tained in all calculations.

binations. Please consult Trench
for specific mounting requirements.
