INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

Project Assignment:

1. Pick up any Product: goods or service which is prominent in Nepal’s export trade as: Handmade
Woolen Carpet/Handicraft/ Coffee/Tea/Tourism/Hydro/IT or any other.
2. Briefly state the present position of selected product in Nepalese industry, export growth trend,
and global market share on the basis of available data and information.
3. Analyze the future prospect or potential opportunity of expanding business on selected
products with available data and reasons (focus on Competitive Advantage in Production and
Global Market size and trend).
4. Mention the stakeholders involved in the production and international business of trade as part
of value chain analysis for the selected product.
5. Enlist the prevailing policies which are positive and facilitative at national level, provisions which
can be used from the agreements at regional level as SAFTA under SAARC, and provisions under
the global framework being a member of World Trade Organization.
6. Identify and state the issues as hurdles remaining at present for the expansion of business in
your selected product.
7. Argue recommending the possible and practicable national policies to be reformed, provisions
to be negotiated at regional forum as SAARC within its framework agreement, and capitalizing
the principles and rules under the global forum as WTO which will help to address the identified
hurdles in expanding business of your selected product.
8. Conclude with short justification how your business strategy of expansion can be achieved with
realization of your recommended policy and success of negotiation at regional and global
institutions.

III. Such data can be illustrated on chart and graphics.
IV. Assignment is to be around 2000 words with cleanly typed format.
V. Tables, references, and other related materials supporting your text can remain on annexes
which is not counted on main text of 2000 words.
VI. Analysis is to be oriented from business perspective not being idealistic from national
perspective as creating employment, or earning foreign currency and so on.
