Preacher/Teacher: Mark H. Meyers

TEXT: 2 Co 3:12-18

2 Corinthians 3:12-18
I. WE SEE COURAGE
a. Hope in the total forgiveness of sins and power to 12
Seeing then that we have such
share the Gospel(V12) hope, we use great plainness of
speech:
II. WE SEE COVENANT 13
And not as Moses, which put a
a. There is covenant that leads to Jesus coming and the
veil over his face, that the children
fulfilment of sacrifice.(V13) of Israel could not stedfastly look to
b. Without Christ, the Old Testament doesn’t make sense. the end of that which is abolished:

But their minds were blinded: for
until this day remaineth the same
III. WE SEE CHRIST
vail untaken away in the reading of
a. We have Christ .When we turn to God, He makes the the old testament; which vail is
difference. We have access to God (V15 & 16) done away in Christ.
b. We have freedom from sin (v17)
15
c. We have continuous transformation. (v18) But even unto this day, when
Moses is read, the vail is upon their
heart.
Illumination – is a proper understanding of the bible.
Depends on 2 things: 16
Nevertheless when it shall turn to
*illuminating work of the Holy Spirit the Lord, the vail shall be taken
*interpreting work of the reader away.

17
Illumination is a ministry of the Holy Spirit promised to man Now the Lord is that Spirit: and
which : where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is liberty.
a. Enables man to see the truth of the gospel.
18
b. Enables those believers to meet conditions, to But we all, with open face
beholding as in a glass the glory of
understand spiritual truths. the Lord, are changed into the same
image from glory to glory, even as
by the Spirit of the Lord.
We need illumination. Man is unable to understand the things
of God, because:

 Carnal Blindness ,His deprave nature (1co2:14)

 Natural Blindness, Man is spiritually discerned (Jn1:5)
 Satanic Blindness, God blinded unbelievers (2co 3&4)
