Program Overview: TechnoServe helped women farmers from across 9 districts in Uttar Pradesh to build and participate in
financially robust, sustainable and transparent Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).
TechnoServe also conducted strategic reviews of Maize, Mentha, Wheat Horticulture value chain and targeted interventions across
input aggregation, mechanization of service provision, agronomy services, storage solutions and access to markets.
Activities and Outputs:

 Improved Performance of FPO leading to integration of SHFs into agricultural markets for Mentha and Wheat in Raebareli
 Improved ability of FPOs to access commercial finance
 Markets access improved for SHFs and sustainable agricultural practices promoted through FPOs
 Facilitate timely conduct of BoD meetings and AGM as per compliance norms.
 Support in preparation and roll out of the capacity building modules
 Creation of reports and documents (training reports and collection & analysis of participant feedback).
 Ensure adoption and implementation of Finance & Expenses Policy, HR policy by partner FPOs.

 Improved performance of FPO leading into integration of SHFs into agriculture markets
 Conducted value chain analysis of maize in Purnea and designed FPC driven intervention plan for the program
 Set Up Maize value chain intervention procurement model in Purnea and Katihar Zone
 Capacity of the FPO enhanced to become active market players in Agri value chain
 Facilitated access to markets among the woman-led FPO, Arnayak Agri Producer Company Limited by establishing B2B
procurement agreements with multinational trade house
 Hedged price risk by selling material on future platform
 Instituted systems for collective marketing, quality standardization, grading and packaging among producer groups
of maize
 Set up an Aggregator model for the systematic collection of agricultural produce at the village cluster level
 Trained FPO management on market scoping, price negotiation, marketing etc.
 Obtained Agri-input license for the FPO to sell bio-fertilizer, seeds etc.

 Provide Training on Business Plan and working structure of company to Executive Committee, Representative General

 Network with government and potential partners to prepare best practices for nutrionally rich crop management
 Promoted 500 Demo plot and mobilized 3500 farmers for soybean crop through the project Axis Bank Foundation (ABF)
and Mahindra and Mahindra(M&M) at Sagar Madhya Pradesh
 Also Promoted Soil Moisture Conservation work (Individual Farmpond -55, Land Levelling and Field Bunding -250 hectare
and with 435 farmer benefited) and Field in dry land with help of ABF and M&M
