DELIVERY
6 Prepare the Infant’s room with necessary materials/equipment:
1 Prepare the following:
 Preheated Incubator (NCU Incubator #2)
 Prepare Admission Area
 Check Oxygen source and prepare suction machine
 Pre-heat warmer or Turn on Droplight
 Mechanical Ventilator (stand by Ventilator TN 2293) plus
 Check Oxygen source and prepare suction machine
compressed air tanks if compressor is not available
 Prepare Resuscitation Kit/Toolbox
 Designated Bedside Suction Machine for COVID Case
 Prepare and pre-heat incubator for transfer
 Designated Infusion/Syringe Pump exclusively for COVID Case
 Weighing Scale
 Designated Cardiac Monitor for COVID Case
2 Once baby out, perform immediate thorough drying and properly
 Routine Newborn Care materials and medicines/vaccines
timed cord clamping
7 Perform Routine Newborn Care in the room if patient is stable
3 Institute NRP Algorithm when necessary
8 Perform Umbilical Catheterization according to policy
4 Monitor patient in the designated NICU ISOLATION ROOM (PEDIA
9 Encourage mother to express milk and follow Infection Prevention
ICU BED No.2) by a member of the COVID 19 Delivery Team.
Control (IPC) measures when expressing and storing milk
5 Utilize preheated incubator (NCU Incubator #2) or customized
10 If breastfeeding is possible, mothers must observe hand, breast
neonatal transport box trolley as means of transport to room
hygiene and droplet precautions esp. wearing of appropriate
disposable mask.

Mother’s PCR Test Result

NEGATIVE POSITIVE
if mother is negative and baby is • Do PCR test on infant at 24 hrs of
asymptomatic, may not test the baby age
• Repeat test at 48-72 hours if initial
test is negative and baby is symptomatic

DISCHARGE
 Negative results of a molecular assay for COVID-19 from at least two consecutive  sets of paired
nasopharyngeal and throat swabs specimens collected ≥24 hours apart
 Improvement in illness, signs and symptoms
 If attending physician clears them to do home quarantine
