84th WAITRO Executive Board Meeting (2nd part)

WAITRO Online Capacity Development Workshops at
50th Anniversary GA

BM/084/10

Paul Burrows, Anna Wohlrab, Yao Xin

1. Executive Summary
WAITRO Capacity Development Activities are designed to help member
organizations improve their management and technology R&D capabilities,
and promote exchanges and cooperation among member organizations.
The WAITRO Secretariat has made some enhanced plans, based on the
survey of Capacity Development Needs gathered from member
organizations. One such gathering resulted in the Horizon Europe
Workshop, which was planned to be in May. Due to the COVID-19 and the
international travel limitations, we were unable to organize on-site training
as originally planned, and the workshop was postponed to be held online in
October, as part of the WAITRO 50th Anniversary.
The current travel situation promises to limit on-site meetings for some
time, but also motivates us to develop other ways to share knowledge. The
WAITRO Secretariat therefore is now open to applications from each
member organization to propose online Capacity Development Workshops
to share their experiences and achievements in RTO management and
research, and to look for opportunities for cooperation.

2. Objectives
- To enhance technical exchange and knowledge sharing between member
organizations, consistent with the original and ongoing mission of WAITRO.
- To create more chances for cooperation between member organizations
