Gender discrimination has been completely eliminated in this modern world.

To
what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is always a debated concern whether men favoritism has been ruled out or not.
While some people do believe that the 21st century is witnessing the gender balance
in all domains, I would argue that sexual discrimination still exist in our world in
some ways.
There are some grounds for that belief. First and foremost, the development of
women empowerment could be seen clearly over the past decades. More and more
women are involving themselves in combat roles in occupation which were
considered just for men by the male-dominated societies in the past. For example,
there are a host of brilliant women politicians whose great achievements putting
their male counterparts to shame. Moreover, the number of women accessing to
university courses and professional opportunities has increased clearly.
On the flip side, some societies are imposing backward ideas and restrictions on
women. For instance, in Switzerland, officials have not yet enfranchised women.
Also, discrimination, stereotyping and implicit biases in earnings and promotion
opportunities for women lead to the wage disparity between women and men.
When women and minorities own the same exact performance evaluation score as
men for the same job and workload, they receive lower pay increases than men.
In conclusion, while many efforts have been made to close the gender gap, women
are still considered as the second class in society. This glass ceiling is certainly
what should be shattered to assure women of their right to have the equal
opportunity in life.
