Uncle Blake and Jersey Rae
Before I even got home on the 15th we stopped at John and Brooke’s to
visit baby Jersey…I was quite the happy uncle! Some of my favorite
moments of this Christmas were simply holding my niece in my arms,
reclining on the couch with her sleeping on my chest, running my
fingers through her fine, soft hair, and my favorite moment, laughing
when Kates or Brooke changed her diaper, only to hear Jersey let loose
on a fresh batch just as the new diaper got put on.
I bought her a cute little Jamaican dress for Christmas, but unfortunately
she won’t be able to wear it for a few more months…but that might be a
good thing because it’s not a winter outfit. I’m hoping for a visit from
baby Jersey this coming summer so I can see her play in the sand while
wearing her cute little outfit.

Meet Thomas Youngjoon Kim, my nephew!!!

Originally due on December 12th, I anticipated flying on December 15th and Isa 9:6 For to us a child is
driving from the airport to the hospital to meet my dear friend’s baby (Peter
and Robin Kim, my “big bro and sis in every way but blood”). The baby born, to us a SON is given;
decided to come out a few days later, so I arrived at home on the 15th to a text
saying “heading to the hospital – Peter.” I woke up on the 16th to another text
saying “Thomas Youngjoon Kim, 8lbs 12oz born at 1:39am and his mom is a

Year-End Banquets and Concerts, O My!

I’m learning that some of the traditions I’m used to at CCCD are part of the
broader Jamaican culture. A few of those “universals” are sports day and end-of-
term events. CCCD Kingston has a formal “banquet” each December, which was a
lot of fun last year and again something to look forward to. The kids always get all
“done up” with lots of cologne, perfume and make up, and the fanciest clothes they PRAYER REQUESTS:

Similarly to CCCD, the Salvation Army School for the Blind where I work with approved and Lord willing I receive
three blind/visually impaired students hosts an annual Christmas concert and more than a year this time. My
Cheyenne invited me to come for the special event. It was a lot of fun and VISA extension is valid til March 2
