Trust: Total.Reliance.Upon.Spoken.Truth. VOLUME 1 ISSUE 8

In Matthew 4:4 Jesus tells us, “It is written, Man shall not live
by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the
mouth of God.” In John 1:1 we learn that “In the beginning
was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God.” Later, in verse 14, it says “And the Word was
made flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth.
What is the meaning of TRUST? To rely not on earthly things
such as ourselves or material blessings (bread), but to
depend on what God has spoken to us through the Word,
that Jesus came, full of truth, to be our propitiation.

Meet Thomas Youngjoon Kim, my nephew!!!

Originally due on December 12th, I anticipated flying on December 15th and Isa 9:6 For to us a child is

saying “heading to the hospital – Peter.” I woke up on the 16th to another text
saying “Thomas Youngjoon Kim, 8lbs 12oz born at 1:39am and his mom is a

Year-End Banquets and Concerts, O My!

I’m learning that some of the traditions I’m used to at CCCD are part of the
broader Jamaican culture. A few of those “universals” are sports day and end-of-
term events. CCCD Kingston has a formal “banquet” each December, which was a
lot of fun last year and again something to look forward to. The kids always get all
“done up” with lots of cologne, perfume and make up, and the fanciest clothes they PRAYER REQUESTS:
have. It’s a great time and a fun way to send the kids home before Christmas
break.  Work Permit / Visa issues…please
pray that my work permit is
Similarly to CCCD, the Salvation Army School for the Blind where I work with approved and Lord willing I receive
three blind/visually impaired students hosts an annual Christmas concert and more than a year this time. My
Cheyenne invited me to come for the special event. It was a lot of fun and VISA extension is valid til March 2
reminded me a lot of the church Christmas programs from the growing up days,  Preparation for Gridley ACWR
where kids have memorized poems, special songs, skits, etc, all focusing on the work team in January, both for the
good news of the birth of baby Jesus, a King and a Prince of Peace. work and for the hearts of team
members
 For re-strengthening and re-
connecting with the Kingston
students, whom I have not spent
quality time with since September
 Continued support of the new
Christian Fellowship recently
begun in Sav-la-mar, an area with a
large deaf community. Pray for the
Word to go forth in Truth and
Sincerity and God to be honored.
 Pray for our team as we sort
through opportunities that God
presents and doors He opens
 Pray for Tashi and our team as she
becomes an integral part of us
 Pray for the healthy growth of
Jersey Rae Widmer and Thomas
Youngjoon Kim
 Pray for David Thames (Zambia,
Africa) as he transitions back to
Africa
 Pray for Kent Levy and Holly
Plattner, as they plan to be married
in the Lord on January 2nd, and for
sweet fellowship with many friends
I will be able to see that weekend
