MANILA – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has partnered with
the Department of Health (DOH), other government agencies, and private partners to launch a
campaign encouraging Filipinos to change and practice preventive behaviors to fight the
coronavirus pandemic.
During the BIDA Solusyon sa Covid-19 Partners online launch Friday, DILG Undersecretary
Jonathan Malaya said the department last year launched the Disiplina Muna campaign aimed
to rebuild the culture of discipline among Filipinos and foster citizen participation.
Malaya said the campaign was an offshoot of the road-clearing program of the DILG wherein it
cleared all obstructions from roads and banned the presence of tricycles in national highways.
“And when the DOH came out with BIDA solusyon, which is an information campaign against
Covid-19 which focuses on the four aspects: B-awal walang mask, I-sanitize ang mga kamay,
D-umistansya ng isang metro, A-lamin ang totoong impormasyon (face mask is a must,
sanitize your hands, keep a one-meter distance, and get the real information), we were
inspired to work closely with them in this campaign,” he said.

Hello everyone! I am here to somehow open your minds about the ill effects
of smoking to your health.
Smoking is regarded as a fashion symbol in young boys. Despite the ill
effects of smoking, people still continue to smoke. Many young boys who start
smoking feel that they look broadminded and liberated if they smoke..
Most often, the teenagers adopt this habit just because of the company
they enjoy. Sometimes, they take a puff from their friends’ cigar. Later on, they
develop the habit of smoking as an indispensable part of their lives. With the
passage of time, the followers of this bad habit turn into chain smokers. It must
be kept in mind that smoking is a toxic habit that may develop lung cancer.
Moreover, the toxic chemicals like arsenic, carbon monoxide, methane, nicotine
and cadmium present in cigarettes are also damaging for health.
Currently, cigarette manufacturing companies are doing very well all over
the globe. Such manufacturing companies also inscribe warnings on the
pockets of cigarette, still people do not pay any heed. On the other hand, every
year government increases the price of cigarettes to discourage people using
tobacco. Yet, smokers go on smoking and prove to be slaves of this bad habit.
